The Sad Tale of Evilette and Maggot

Commentary by Alisa
September 22, 2005

How I Spent My Summer Vacation
Why do I feel as empty as my trash can after the big grinding garbage truck has collected its contents? I am dissatisfied with the finale of Big Brother 6. There is also a little sadness in my heart because my least two favorite people other than Celine Dion and Jonny Fairplay (you'd agree if you are a "Kill Reality" viewer), were the remaining two finalists, and not even America's Choice at that.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't we, the audience, once have a vote in the final outcome? I guess it's just too much to trust America with anything other than a desired phone call or a field trip out of the IKEA house.
The Final Three
Janelle may not have been my ideal in the beginning, or when she became a mean name-calling drunk, but that girl had a bubbly personality and a lot of guts. She played the game very well. She endeared herself to me as the weeks went on while the so-called Friend Ship got on my nerves with their BS. Once it came down to the Final Three, she didn't really have much of a chance against Maggie and Ivette.

Maggie's strategy was to be silent most of the time which she believes was her strong suit. The trouble was that Maggie didn't win many challenges. She hung on despite being on the block 12 times according to Juliebot. She said that she stayed out of discussions and debates while biting her tongue and biding her time. I honestly believe that she slid through and pretty much lucked out at the end.

Ivette had a three-point strategy: 1. I need the money 2. I deserve the money and 3. Boo hoo hoo. She prided herself on being honest and loud and "being Ivette." Frankly, I can think of a lot of better people to be. The interesting thing was that at the end when the votes were read, it seemed to dawn on her, judging by her facial expression that she had actually not achieved her dream. All that nonsense about being unable to live with herself had she won the big prize is not how she would have felt at all. She would have been jubilant and loud.

The only satisfaction I have is in knowing that Ivette is the Colby Donaldson of Big Brother. In order to keep her word to the Friend Ship, she forfeited $450,000. Janelle would have won second place had Ivette agreed to her deal of taking Maggie out because there would have been one more Jury member on the Friend Ship's side.

How Ivette must have wanted to kick herself when she heard that Maggie would use the money to "buy a lot of presents," furnish her house and take care of her animals. Ivette will stay awake many nights thinking about her own stupidity.

We, The Jury.....
