The Stupidity That Is Howie

Commentary by Matt B.

Mild Spoiler Material Follows
Beware: I have been watching the live feeds for a while now and I am livid. If I break out into a rant during this commentary I am officially sorry. Anyway, this last week was more about planning to get James out than it was about Kaysar's eviction. One reason why, is that Kaysar will probably be back.

What a Week!
When Maggie won HOH she said that her nominations would be part personal and part strategic. They ended up being 100% revenge and I will not be swayed from that opinion. She nominated Kaysar and James, the two people most responsible for Eric's eviction. Instead, she could have nominated Rachel, a big threat, or Janelle, an equally big threat. Nope, she went with revenge.
By the time the veto competition came around the "Friendship" (which sounds more like a cult than an alliance) was gunning for James and desperate to get rid of him. However, James and Sarah went into the veto competition hoping to get her the veto, that way both of them were safe. Maggie and Beau had no such strategy and that allowed Sarah to win the veto. That was another dumb move on Maggie's part.

I will give Maggie a little credit. She, April, and others in her alliance managed to turn the Six against James and Sarah, which may save them this week. Here's how it happened: April spoke with Kaysar, and then each of them talked with their alliances. Both alliances made James their collective target. I'll give my strong opinion on that later.

Thursday night was the eviction and the evictee was Kaysar. He knew it was happening, but I didn't want it to happen. That said, Kaysar showed he was a strong player. As Rachel said, he had a good hand, but he showed all of his cards.

I liked the HOH competition. It was The Weakest Link: Big Brother style. Seriously, even the things they stood behind looked like they were stolen from the set of The Weakest Link. Sarah surprised me in that competition. She did quite well. Also, did anyone notice that when Ivette buzzed in Julie Chen kept talking, which she wasn't supposed to do, allowing Ivette to answer correctly? CBS get a new host and fast. In the end, Howie won, and I suspect that Rachel gave it to him.

Evictee to Return
Ashlea, why would you leave the sequester house? Oh yeah, you had no shot at returning, that's why. You should have passed that thought onto Eric as well.

This week fans can vote for Michael, Eric, or Kaysar to return. People in the house are convinced that either Michael (they think he got a raw deal) or Eric (they think America loves their firemen) will be coming back. People: please vote for Kaysar!

Personally, I'm not fond of this twist. First, it has been used before. Big Brother 3 had the exact same twist at the exact same time. Survivor: Pearl Islands had the Outcast tribe twist. So, this twist is old. Come up with new ones. Plus, it isn't fair to those left in the house, many of which had to fight hard just to stay in, to have someone who was just chilling for a few weeks reenter the house and possibly win. That's another reason why Kaysar should come back: he's been gone for the shortest amount of time.
