Constantine's gone and I love it. Apparently all the young women out there felt scorned when Constantine stopped crooning to them as he tried in vain to broaden his fan base. Constantine sold out by crossing over to the "light side of life". His overflowing ego thought he could just hop back over, throw a couple of calculated kicks, growl and all would be forgotten and forgiven. Wrong. Instead, the dark side reared its ugly head and bit HIS off. Face it, not only did he sell out, he showed that he was disingenuous as well. The people that usually felt the warmth of his stare were left feeling abandoned. The fact that Constantine's band, riding the wave of publicity brought on by the "Constantine Connection" released their album to high record sales despite being relatively unknown, may also have added to the resentment.
In an act of retribution they turned on him, instead splitting their votes on Anthony and Scott. That should be a lesson to all the remaining contestants. Without integrity and knowing what keeps your fans voting, you are destined to get cut no matter how secure you think you are.
On our predictions page this week I said Constantine should go. He did and I don't feel sorry for him one bit. In the weeks to come when Scott and Anthony get the boot, they can go back to their friends and family knowing that at least they bested Constantine.
The person I most feel sorry for is Vonzell. Here is a girl who is pouring her heart and soul into her work each week. Her steadily improving performances have been garnishing very positive reviews from the judges, yet she still ends up in the bottom 3. I think that is a shame. She deserves to be in the top 3 until the finale.
Speaking of feeling sorry, I don't the least bit for Poor Paula. While tears streamed down her face, she could barely utter her goodbye condolences to Constantine. I am not sure what brought on the tears. Perhaps withdrawal from her "happy pills" or the fact that she won't be able to find a "special friend" in Constantine brought on the water works.
Or maybe, just maybe those tears were totally genuine. I don't believe they were.
If you want to see genuine tears, take a look at the tears of joy in Simon's eyes when Scott is finally sent home.
