Something to think about is the appeal factor of RTV. Let's examine this for a minute. Regular TV consists of actors/actresses who are trained to portray "characters". RTV is revealing to us that when untrained individuals get in front of the TV cameras, their real "character" comes out. Can you just see some of these "audition tapes"? It might go something like this: Hi, I'm Miss or Mr. Goody Two Shoes from Small Town, America and I love apple pie, animals and the red, white and blue. I'm soooo sweet and innocent and would make an excellent candidate because I represent the typical average person.
Then bingo, on goes the camera lights and Miss Goody Two Shoes becomes the bitch from hell, while Mr. Small Town America becomes a seething, insulting ball busting bull.
Then, we have our Mr. and Miss Duh, where am I? They told me I was going somewhere over the rainbow. In their daze, they wonder if they are there yet. Please tell me that this "character gene" does not lay dormant in all of us and all it takes is the lens of a camera to bring it to life in living color.
If I was Adria, I just might be afraid of the "fire and brimstone" result of using a message from dreaming for picking nominations. Did I actually hear that right? From a dream. She likes to reference her "faith", bible, etc. as reasoning for doing what she did. Well, Adria, dear Adria, let me offer this up. When did God, the bible and a human being who tries to mimic God, mix together with good results? Adria wants the "power" of breaking a tie. Power. Power. More power. Good grief. Yes, Bravo and Kudos to both nominees Marvin and Will for not begging or even asking for Adria to use the veto.
I am so disappointed that Marvin and Will are on the block and one will be leaving. I wanted Cowboy to go. But, we can't have what we want all the time. Jase and Holly being gone are super. Speaking of Jase. Did he dupe the casting crew or what? Now, we learn he is a volunteer fireman only when he is in his hometown. Wonder how often that is. He readily admits to living in LA all along to pursue acting and that his "bad boy" routine was playing right into the hands of the audience for primetime exposure to ensure more and more "15 minutes" of fame. What can we, the Viewing Audience, do? One thing is to write to the Producers of Reality Shows and tell them we do NOT want actor wannabes and to do more thorough checking. It would have been easy to determine that Jase was not the small town homeboy volunteer fireman he claimed to be. Please, networks and producers stop insulting our intelligence. Give us REAL RTV. Quit with the actors and actresses, the California dreamin' crowd.
OK, back to the present situation at the BB house. I'm almost at the point of pulling for one of three people to take the whole shooting match. Marvin or Will (whichever is still there after this week), Karen or Jenn. Why? Because I'm tired of the whole twin thing, the bed buddies of the double Ds. This leaves Will, Marvin, Karen and Jenn. My first preference would probably be whichever one of the guys is left standing after eviction, for my ultimate pick to be the last BB5 HG and take the 500,000. Unless, there could be some way to get Mose, from 'Amish in the City' over to the BB house as a "twist" and take it. Another thing I, personally, would prefer is that the food challenges be for the entire house, rather than teams or individual events. Let the luxury games be individual and keep the food as a house unit event.
What I really can't wait to see is both of the twins on the block together. Of course, they will appear cool and calm and probably say that their fate is in the hands of their "faith". What is their faith anyway? God, the bible? How. I could be wrong but, I was taught that lying, conniving, back stabbing is not a nice thing to do so why tout "the faith" as a reason. If you're going to play a game and use "Faith" as a basis in the context that the twins do, then, you have to walk a very narrow path. You can't mix God and lying in the same principle. It just doesn't wash, in my opinion. I love Marvin's reaction. Heck no, don't be taking him off since his nomination was supposedly God given to Adria. Marvin doesn't want to go pissing God off. Can ya blame him.
As they say, interesting times awaits us. Will see. See ya next time in 'Hardwired'
