American Idol 4: Who's Going Home
Prediction Number 2
By The RTVC Staff
March 2, 2005
Each week several of the Reality TV Calendar Staff Writers will offer their opinions on who SHOULD go home and who WILL go home. They are not always one and the same. You can see how each writer voted below; as well as their reasoning.
We didn't do to well last week. America obviously disagreed with our ideas. We'll see how we do this week.
For the guys we are split. We have a three way tie with each getting 5 votes to go home. The unlucky three are David Brown, Joseph Murena and Constantine Maroulis.
On the girls side the staff thinks Janay is an easy pick. And then we predict Celina Rae will go home and save Lindsey Cardinale and Aloha Mischeaux.

Ron Lemon Says:
On the guys side I think David Brown should and will go home. He is out classed and does not belong at this level of the competition. I think Scott Savol should go a well. His voice is weak and has little range. His personality is somewhere between nonexistent and creepy. He is just not American Idol material. But...I think he is safe this week. I said this last week and I was wrong, but I'm going to say it again this week because I still believe that Constantine Maroulis will go home. The competition is not big enough for two rockers and Bo Bice is a league above Constantine.
On the girls side this is so painfully obvious that I am probably going to be wrong on both of them. I think Janay and Aloha should and will go home. Neither has the talent to be at this level. Since I am that sure they are probably both safe.
Two other thoughts. It seems to me that this year the boys side has the talent. To me the top 12 should be 9 boys and 3 girls. But the producers have decided it will be 6 and 6. Too bad, some deserving people are going to get cut early and we'll have to listen to some people who don't belong there. Second, I was pleasantly surprised by the shows Monday and Tuesday night. The cruelty seems to have disappeared. I believe it must be a conscious decision on the part of the producers and the judges. I hope they don't prove me wrong tonight.
My picks to win...as of this moment...Anwar Robinson or Nadia Turner. My personal favorite is Carrie Underwood but a country voice is not going to win American Idol.
Teri Sue Says:
The males came to sing/perform and that they did.
Very well indeed! The Judges seemed to be more
professional in their approach. The females (with the
exception of a few) were weak. If a male doesn't take
the whole shindig at the end, I'll be surprised.
Males who should go: Tough one this week. They all
came to the plate to try to hit the homerun. So, I'm
going to have to say that if I had my druthers, my
"Should" is that it should be three females and one
male. But, we can't do it that way.
Should Go: Constantine Maroulis and Joseph Murena
Will Go: Constantine Maroulis and Joseph Murena
The females did step it up, but, only a select few are
keeping up with the guys. Thanks to Mikalah Gordon
for being much more professional. Up to this week,
she was grating on my nerves.
Should Go: Janay Castine and Lindsey Cardinale
Will Go: Janay Castine and Lindsey Cardinale
I do believe we are gearing up for a fun and enjoyable
final 12!
Christine Says:
With the guys, I think Joseph Murina should go home. He did much better than last week, but he is still not good enough to continue in the competition. To me he is getting by on his looks. And David Brown should go home. He did not sing well at all, and he is not as good as the other contestants. As to who will go home? I believe it will be Constantine Maroulis, who is good, but not as good a Bo Bice. And my second choice Scott Savol, he is good, but he isn't as good as he was in the auditions. He unfortunately does not have the looks for American Idol.
With the girls, I think Aloha Mischeaux had a poor song choice and her voice is not as good as the other contestants. She should go home along with Mikalah Gordon who is just a poor singer, she does not compare to the other contestants. Who will go home? I believe it will be Cenelna Rae, she picked a poor song to sing and then just did not sing it very well at all.
My second choice is Janay Castine, she may have been better than last week, but she picked a hard song to sing and just did not perform very well.
Jillian Kuras Says:
The Guys - Who I think SHOULD go home- Joseph Murena and Nikko Smith. Joseph is just no where near as good as the others. His voice is weak, he's a weak performer, and he has zero star quality. And even though the judges love Nikko, I think he is boring and forgettable.
Who I think WILL go home- Joseph Murena and Constantine Maroulis. Joseph for the same reasons as above, and Constantine because a lot of his voters will vote for Bo tonight. Much like I said last week, Constantine and Bo will be splitting the "rocker" vote. I think Bo was far better that Constantine tonight, and it was obvious the judges liked Bo better. This will help Bo get more votes, so I think Constantine will be the odd man out.
The Girls - Who I think SHOULD go home - Janay Castine and Mikalah Gordon. Janay was just terrible, definitely the worst of the night. Like Simon said, she's just not ready for this yet. She looks scared to death and her voice is not great. As for Mikalah, even though she toned it down this week, which I liked, I still don't think her voice is as great as some of the other girls. Take away her eccentric personality, and like I said, she's nothing special.
Who I think WILL go home - Janay Castine and Celena Rae. Janay for the same reasons as above. As for Celena, I actually picked her to go home last week as well. Even though she was better this week, I still don't think she is doing enough to challenge for a spot in the top twelve. I don't think she has a very big fan base and I think she needed to be spectacular to make it through another week. And I don't think she was.
Evan Says:
Should Go: Janay Castine, because she should have gone last week. Celena Rae, because she was out of tune for the whole song. David Brown, because he is not among the best. Joseph Murena, although better this week, he is still not really idol material.
Will Go: Janay Castine, because she should have gone last week. Celena Rae, because she was forgettable. David Brown, because he will be forgotten. Joseph Murena because he was forgettable.
Alisa Says:
It is getting tougher and tougher. There is more talent this year than I can recall from previous years. How come? It's just making my job harder. They range from good to exceptional. I love rockers like Bo Bice, but I have a soft spot for a genuine singer like Anthony Federov who is unafraid of singin schlocky but touching songs. Neither one of those two should go, for sure.
Guys Who Will/Should Go:
Constantine Maroulis - He fancies himself a rocker, but he aint no rocker, when you see the likes of Bo Bice.
Scott Savol - He was a lot weaker this time around
Maybe he should go: David Brown will go. I can't outguess America.
Ladies Who Will/Should Go:
This week, the men far outshone the women.
Janay Castine sounded like she had no energy. Her voice was thin and I don’t think she is ready for this competition.
Aloha Mischeaux doesn’t really impress me. Her style has nothing unique going for it.
Cari C. Says:
Even though I enjoy Constantine I thought his performance was terrible. He did a really bad impression of Chris Robinson. With that said, I still think that there are enough girls that will vote to keep him there.
Poor Travis, he just can't seem to get it together. Why he chose that Lionel Ritchie song is beyond me. He just doesn't seem to connect yet so I think he is going home.
David started so strong but he has not picked songs that show off his talent. With the weak performances and the fact that he has had minimal exposure should have him going home Wednesday.
Hopefully America will spare us and send Janay home. She is just not in the same league as the others. She also has a bit of an attitude and hopefully that turned off some voters. I hope America proves me wrong and sends her home.
Celena needed to really bring it tonight and she didn't deliver. The song was wierd and even though she did a good job I don't think she did enough.
Lindsey is a good singer but she keeps picking the wrongs songs. I think her performance was not enough to keep her around another week. She could have been a contender but she blew it.
