Day 49 in the Big Brother house
Adria's tyrannical reign as Head of Household came to an end, but not before beloved houseguest Will, a 26-year-old openly gay Registered Nurse from New York City, became the sixth person evicted from the Big Brother house and the first person to be sequestered. This season's first live vote resulted in a tie forcing Adria to cast the tie-breaking vote, and as I predicted on Wednesday, she sent Will packing.
From the studio, host Julie Chen explains that the past week was one of shock and betrayal. Will had made a pinky promise with Adria, Karen, Nakomis and Diane the second week in the house, so he assumed he would be safe with Adria as HOH. Diane was playing both sides of the house. She wanted to force a tie so that Adria would take the heat for evicting Will.
Diane, who is suffering her second week of PB&J, starts to become paranoid during the week; she didn't know who to trust after she caught Marvin and Natalie talking in the middle of the night. Diane wondered why the two enemies were speaking at such a late hour. Diane confronted Marvin about the incident; he denied having a conversation with Natalie. In the diary room, Diane said she doesn't know if she can trust the twins, but she does trust Drew. Meanwhile, Drew tells Cowboy that he wouldn't be attracted to Diane once they are out of the house if she betrayed him in the game. Cowboy told Drew that Diane needs to go next week so that Drew can get his head back into the game. The twins discussed Diane's loyalty to them. Diane told Will and Marvin that she trusts both of them: "…whichever one of you stays - me and you 'til the end."
Back in the studio, Julie asked Karen about life in the house post Jase. Karen said the house was "clean and not sticky." Julie asked Diane about her two week stint on PB&J. Diane said she will never eat PB&J again. Cowboy told Julie the most useful fashion advice he's gotten in the house is his clean shaven spiked hair look, which he apparently has abandoned. Nakomis told Julie she would give her right arm for a ride in a car even if she had to be hand-cuffed, blindfolded and thrown into the trunk. Julie segues into the announcement that one of the houseguests will win a walk on roll on the CBS soap The Young and The Restless. The houseguests applauded their approval.
In the diary room, Karen, Drew and Natalie shared their thoughts about this week's nominees. Karen said having Will and Marvin on the block "has been psychologically tormenting the hell out of me." Karen could live in the house without Will, but she doesn't want to. "This is probably one of the ugliest nominations I've seen yet," Karen said. Drew said Marvin is a good player who will be a threat to him down the road. Drew said Will is a threat to him because of his alliance with Karen and Nakomis, he thought he could gain their trust by keeping Will. Natalie said her trust in Will was diminished this week, but she sees Marvin as a threat because she doesn't know where he stands in the game.
Will's friends in New York City describe the Will they know. Carolyn says although Will may be from Mississippi he 'thrives' in the city. She said Will has a fashion sense that most people couldn't pull off. Brandon says life with Will is "non-stop entertainment." Brandon said Will's strong point in the house was the fact that he could fit in well with everyone in the house from hanging with the alpha males to being the 'alternate' girl. Brandon said Will is the quintessential New Yorker. In Will's absence, Carolyn, Brandon, and Kara get together to watch the show. They were furious when watching the episode when Adria put Will on the block. Brandon said that up until this point in the game Will has played a passive game, but the real Will "knows what he wants and he's there to get it." Kara feels that Will had what it took to win the game.
Julie spoke privately to Adria in the HOH bedroom. Adria explained that she was very surprised by the house's reaction to her nomination. She has learned that her 'team' doesn't trust her. Adria said it would be an honor for her to break the tie so that she could take the heat by herself and free Natalie to be herself in the game. Adria told Julie that she knows she is a target now, but that she has her faith and her sister to help her deal with it. "I'm just really rooting for Natalie because she is my only guarantee at this time," Adria said.
