Fire Me...Please

FMP Comedian/Actor: Yes, Deluded Is The Word
Interview by Counselor Shawn
June 10, 2005
With the entire buzz going on about CBS deluding the TV audience about whether or not the show actually uses actors or untrained civilians off the street, I took it upon myself to get the inside story straight from the mouth of one of the contestant/actor's from the show.

Comedian Rob Little will appear on Fire Me...Please on Tuesday night. Rob was very forthright with me and I appreciate his honesty.

Rob is a comedian that has spent years traveling the comedy circuit, Weds in June on Strictly Sex with Dr. Drew on Discovery Health, a sketch with Carson Daly in May on Last Call with Carson Daly, Distraction on Comedy Central and The Best Damn Sports Show Period. Get the truth and learn about Rob in the interview.
Shawn: Did you have to audition for Fire Me Please? If so, what was the audition like?

Rob: They wanted us to be as real and as funny as we could be while not being fake or making it look forced. Just let the funny come from the situation. We all had 4 or 5 call backs for this show. Every time I would go in we would have to do more improv and meet with more and more people. At the time it's just part of the process and I know why they do it but it seems like it's taking forever. I was like, "Just pick me already!" hahaha Well not out loud, in my head I was thinking that. The last audition was at the CBS studios in front about 20 CBS big wigs. I'm glad I didn't know who any of them were because there was plenty of potential to be nervous. I wasn't at all though and just had fun.

Shawn: Give me and the viewers your overall impression of Dave Holmes? Did you guys get to hang out?

Rob: Well for one Dave Holmes, the host of the show, threw a party at the Silent Theatre in Hollywood, so all the contestants from all the shows were there. It was to watch the debut of the show. Now anyone that throws a party with FREE drinks is alright in my book! I really didn't get to hang out with him much but he definitely loved my performance on the show and was talking with me a lot about it.

Shawn: Did you make friends with any of the other contestants? Maybe some lasting friendships?

Rob: Great question! Actually YES I did. Kurt Basa the winner of the 1st episode has become a good friend of mine and Cherise Bangs also has become a good friend. We were all in the same auditions together so we got to know each other a bit from that. Plus we are all in the comedy world some how, me being a stand up and them being Improv actors.

Shawn: Since your stint on the show airs Tuesday, what are your immediate plans?

Rob: Actually I am trying to throw a party for it. Should be fun to watch and find out if I won or not. But this week I have been trying to promote the heck out of it. Every little bit helps me get noticed more on the road while I am performing stand up at clubs all across the country!

Shawn: Now the hard question Rob. As I am sure you have noticed? CBS is taking some major hits in the press for duping the viewers into believing the contestants on the show are non-actors and/or celebrities. How do you feel about all that considering your extensive resume?
