Gilligan's Island 2
The Professor Is A Phoney Psychologist
Commentary by Ron Lemon

I'm going to start this by saying up front that I really do not like Professor Tiy-E Muhammad. I find him loud, obnoxious, annoying, tasteless and boring. I do not understand why he was cast as one of the Professors on The Real Gilligan's Island II. There is no physical resemblance and no resemblance of character. The original Professor was a scientist. Professor Tiy-E presents himself as a Psychologist. Turns out he is not even that.
The Atlanta Journal Constitution is reporting he is a phoney.
According to the paper he “is not licensed to practice psychology in Georgia or anywhere else.” He is known on an Atlanta radio station as "The Love Doctor." Also according to the paper he may face criminal charges. Claiming to be a Psychologist when you do not have a license to practice is illegal.
There is more. Tiy-E says on his website that he "resigned from his position as a professor of Psychology at Clark, to pursue a career in acting and modeling.” Not so says the Journal which reports that they were told by school officials that Tiy-E "left after they discovered his credentials were bogus.”
Tiy-E answers the charges with the same bullying bravado he uses on the show saying “That is not anybody’s business.” People he has counselled may feel otherwise.
The paper also reports “Muhammad said that in 1999 he founded a nonprofit organization called ‘Man II Man Inc." That is not true either. According to Cara Hodgson of the Georgia Secretary of State’s office the organization is a for-profit company. Tiy-E responds that "he had not ‘filed the paperwork’ to make the corporation nonprofit.” Since the report came out his web site has been changed to describe the company "as ‘community-based,’ rather than nonprofit.”
Reality TV Producers need to learn a lesson here. If someone acts like pond scum, chances are that is exactly what they are. There is nothing entertaining about that. It does not build ratings, it does not broaden appeal. It make everybody involved with the show look foolish.
