We ended last week with both of our Inferno contestants winning the Aztec Lifesaver. Veronica has made it well known that she will be sending her nemesis Katie to the Inferno. Coral does a little "I won the Lifesaver dance," but has yet to make her choice. Katie is in Kendal's room furious with Veronica. "She chickened her way out of the Gauntlet and now she has chickened her way out of the Inferno." Katie begins to prepare for the Inferno. She decides that since Timmy continually uses her razor to shave his face, she is going to wear his deodorant. She picks up what she thinks is deodorant and applies it to her underarms. Right away it begins to burn and she screams at Kendal. Kendal tried to decipher the words on the bottle and they come to the conclusion that the bottle contains Ben-Gay. Katie professes her hate for Mexico and can't understand why they would make Ben-Gay look like Deodorant.
Coral is still trying to decide who she wants to send to the Inferno. She is still mad at Mike because he didn't have her back at the last Inferno meeting, but she decides that she won't be sending him. There are others more deserving. She has decided that David needs to go. She explains that it is just his time. Coral goes out to speak to him and let him know ahead of time. David knew it was coming. He said he has wanted to see Coral leave the whole time so he expected to be her choice.
As everyone walks down into the Inferno, they notice two Plexiglas coffins filled with murky water and fish heads. For a moment, I thought I changed the channel and was watching Fear Factor. Dave Mirra appears and welcomes us to our final Inferno aptly titled "Smell you later." This will be a four hour Inferno with a sudden death of, breath holding in the case of a tie. Each contestant will lie in the coffin, after every half hour for the first hour and a half more stuff will be added. The contestants get in and the Inferno begins.
Coral and Veronica rejoice about not having to be in the nasty stuff while David wonders if this is really his life. After the first half hour, men in masks come to apply the next stinky layer. It is a bucket full of spoiled rotten eggs. They cover David and Katie's heads and pour it on. You can tell the smell is awful. The next half hour brings a bucket of spoiled milk. Big chunks splash up on David's face and he asks if you are allowed to puke. Dave informs them that puking is allowed.
The next half hour brings 2 cow tongues and a cow's intestine. Both Katie and David last the four hours so it comes down to sudden death. Dave informs us that both will have to hold their breaths under all the gross stuff and whoever does it the longest wins. Darrell predicts David to win since Katie is a pack a day smoker. CT is worried about David because he is shaking like crazy. Sudden death begins; Kendal tells everyone that Katie is planning on holding her breath until she dies. Kendal is to tap on the glass to let Katie know that she has won. David comes up first. The Road rules team is in shock. The look on Timmy's face was priceless. Kendal taps on the glass and Katie emerges the winner. Dave announces that Katie is the winner and announces that David is going home. He dismisses the teams after letting them know that tomorrow is the final challenge. So the final score is Real World: 6 players lost; Road Rules: 2 players lost. On to the finals.
Of course MTV can't just let the finals happen. We are now rewarded with the big Veronica/Katie fight. This of course has been brewing since last season on the Gauntlet. If you missed the Gauntlet, here is a little background. In the Gauntlet, the teams decided who on their own team should go into the Gauntlet. The Road Rulers kept sending the same people (who can forget Sarah and her multiple Gauntlet appearances). Katie got sent twice and ended up going home early. She blamed it on Veronica only to find out later Veronica did not vote for her. The two called a "truce" but that soon ended when Katie again became the target of the Road Rulers during the Inferno. This brings about tonight's main event. Katie has gone into Kendal's room to talk when Veronica butts into her conversation. Katie uses the opportunity to lay into Veronica.
Let me say, at this point I felt like I was watching an episode of "Cops." You know where the cops drag out some guy with no shirt who is drunk and yelling at the them. Veronica is running around with no shirt on being held back by Holly in a robe while Christena is holding back Katie wearing nothing but a towel. The two hurl insults back and forth. Of course Katie again wins the prize for best insult of the night. "Skanky, acne covered, whore," beat anything Veronica screamed back. Of course Veronica didn't have much to go on whereas Katie had plenty.
Anyone remember the threesome Veronica had with Abe and Rachel during the Gauntlet? I wish I could forget that one. After a few more hurled insults, Mike comes in and drags Katie away. He tries to calm her down by telling her she does not want to hit Veronica because she will get thrown off. He tells her Veronica is a wuss and not worth it. Veronica, meanwhile is in the other room fuming that Katie is lucky to even be there. She wants Katie to hit her so that Katie would have to go home and then Road Rules would be sure to win. Mike takes Katie out of the house and the fight is over. Meanwhile downstairs David goes to the boat to leave while CT talks about how unfair it is that David had to go.
The next day brings us the Road Rulers talking about the big Veronica/Katie event. They get a text message saying for them to meet at 2:00 PM for the final mission. They should wear team colors, shorts, tank tops, socks, and tennis shoes. The players talk about the final. A few are worried, Coral hopes there are no spiders crawling around this time. Darrell thinks with Katie on the team, they have no chance of winning. Dave appears, he informs them that because they made it to the finals, they are all entitled to a portion of what is already in their bank. He then tells them their final mission is called Seven Deadly Sins. Each section of the challenge will be based on one of the seven deadly sins. Each sin will be represented. The seven deadly sins are lust, wrath, gluttony, envy, greed, pride, and sloth. The mission is worth $150,000. The first team to have their whole team cross the finish line will win the money. Katie is trying to decide what she wants more. The money or to see the looks on the faces of her team when she throws the mission.
Will Katie throw the mission? Will Coral lose it for her team again? Who will win it all? Come back next week for part two of the Inferno finale.
