The Inferno II: Episode 1
The Good guys vs. The Bad Asses
Recap by Cari C.
March 8, 2005
Last night was the premiere of the newest Road Rules/Real World challenge, The Inferno II. As in challenges past the same old people have returned yet again to compete against on another for cash and prizes. This time however it will be a little different. Instead of Road Rules against Real World or the men against the women, it will be good versus evil.
Everyone arrives in Mexico and are welcomed by this seasons host Dave Mira. Has there ever been a more boring reality show host than this guy? This season we will be revisiting the Inferno. This time however MTV has gone all out and bought a really nice set. The set kind of reminds me of a prison, only this prison is in hell surround by flames.
Everyone seems impressed by the set and seems excited to be there. What am I saying; of course they are excited to be there. It is not as if these people have anything else to do. Dave begins telling everyone how this season will break down. He tells them that unlike previous challenges the teams will be broken down into two teams the good guys and the bad asses.
If you don't go to MTV.com much you might have missed your chance to vote. During Battle of the Sexes II, viewers were given the chance to vote on a number of former contestants. We were told that all of these people were possible cast members for the next challenge. We were then asked to vote whether we thought each former cast member was a good guy or a bad guy.
After all the votes were tallied the producer then had to come up with enough willing cast members to fill each team. I am sure there are some that are the top of the list. I mean there are people that have been on every challenge since Battle of the Seasons. Okay actually it is just one person and her name is Veronica. Really Veronica, get a job.
Here is the breakdown of the teams. Filling the ten slots on the good guys team are:
Jon (RW LA)
Mike (RW B2NY)
Darrell (RR Campus Crawl)
Brad (RW San Diego)
Landon (RW Philly)
Jamie (RW San Diego)
Julie (RW New Orleans)
Shavonda (RW Philly)
Robin (RW San Diego)
Jodi (RR X-treme)
I am not quite sure how Julie got on this team but she did. I know when I voted she was on my bad guys list. It should be interesting to see how she does with these guys.
Over at the bad asses, we have:
Abe (RR South Pacific)
CT (RW Paris)
Karamo (RW Philly)
Dan (RW Miami)
Derrick (RR X-treme)
Veronica (RR Semester at Sea)
Rachel (RR Campus Crawl)
Beth (RW LA)
Tonya (RW Chicago)
Tina (RR South Pacific)
Most of these are right on the ball. I know why Tina made it onto this team but I still voted her a good guy because she is one of my favorites.
The teams are excited by the breakdown except Beth. She is a little surprised to be on the bad ass team. She thinks she is a good person. Has she seen her past performances? Tonya isn't surprised in the least with her being on the bad ass team. How could she not make the bad ass team? She has been a witch since her original season.
Dave tells the teams that this time around will work very much like the first Inferno did. Teams will compete in a challenge. After the challenge teams will go back and nominate someone to go into the Inferno. The next day there will be another challenge. The top performer will be awarded the Aztec Lifesaver. If the top performer is nominated to go into the Inferno that person may then put someone else in their place.
