Rock Star: INXS - Episode 15
You Can't Forget The Words!
Recap by Gayl Killough
August 11, 2005
Wednesdays are the results shows.
Hostess Brooke restates that last night they tried something new.
Voting started after the final performance. Before the show ended,
after only a few minutes of voting, the bottom three at that point in
time was announced. Last night there were: Deanna, Jessica, and Brandon.
The bottom three was monitored over the course of the entire four hours.
There were five people who appeared in the bottom three at different
times. They were Deanna, Jessica, Brandon, J.D., and Suzie. INXS
comments that the audience must have thought the remaining four did a
good job. At this time, the remaining four know that they will be safe.
The real bottom three will be from the five contestants who got the
lowest votes.
INXS singles out the two performers that they thought did an outstanding job.
They told Marty that doing a solo acoustic was clever. They tell Ty that
he redeemed himself and they want him to perform the encore. Ty sounded
really good and looked very happy. Too happy for the song, but his
happiness is understandable.
Time for Hostess Brooke to announce who is the real bottom three. The
bottom three that resulted after four hours of voting. They are Suzie,
Brandon, and Jessica. I am upset about Suzie being in the bottom three.
Suzie had my personal favorite performance last night and she has been
growing and competing. Suzie did not deserve to be in the bottom three. Plus, I hope
it does not mean that she will think people prefer an earlier version of
her and go back to a comfort zone instead of progressing, I liked how
she was progressing over the show. I felt she was headed in the right
direction.
Garry and Jon are joining the house band once again. Last week, they told
the bottom three what each would sing all at once. This week they
went back to the way they did it before. Telling the contestant what they are
going to sing right before the performance.
Jessica is up first. They tell her that they want her to sing
"Disappear". Yikes, I know that is the song title, but I hope that is
not meant as a message. Actually, the song fits Jessica musically and
she sounds much better on it than her regular performances.
Brandon is second. They tell him that they want him to sing "Don't Lose
Your Head", which is a bluesy style and is right up his alley. The tell
him to watch his delivery. He has kind of a mumbling style to his
voice, but Brandon messes up the words. I don't think Suzie will blow
her performance, so I think Brandon is going home.
Suzie is last and they give her "Bitter Tear". The words are totally
appropriate for her situation because it talks about I thought I was
doing no wrong. Not only did Suzie sing the song, but I felt like I was
watching a whole performance too.
After the commercial break, INXS announces its decision. If only one
person is going to be eliminated, I think it will be Brandon. If they
decide to do another double elimination, then I think it will be Brandon
and Jessica.
A second week was cut from the entire schedule, but I
personally hope they wait and do a top three instead of a top two. I
hope the ratings improve enough that there is not a need to cut any more
weeks either. I really enjoy this show. I don't want it to end.
Suzie is told first that she proved she did not deserve to be there and
that she is safe. So it is down to Jessica and Brandon. They tell
Jessica that she is resilient and that she is safe. So this means
that Brandon will be the one to go home.
In a light-hearted manner,
Brandon tells them how dare you give me "Don't Lose Your Head" because I
barely remember the words to my own songs. The tell Brandon that
forgetting words to an INXS song in unforgivable and that you are not
right for our band.
Brandon is eliminated.
