Tonight is an elimination show. Hostess Brooke starts off the show by
announcing a top three instead of a bottom three. I get the impression
that the top three are far ahead of the rest of the pack. The top three
vote-getters are Jordis, Marty, and MiG. They look elated to hear this
news.
Dave tells them that one of them really did well last night and also
saved him a fortune in couple’s therapy. He tells MiG that they want
him to do the encore. MiG looks touched by this and is pumped up to the
encore. He starts to play on the piano and then stops. He wants Marty
and Jordis to join him on the encore performance. MiG sings the verses
by himself, while Jordis and Marty join him on the chorus. I would also
like to point out that Marty can indeed sing with a genuine smile on his
face.
The camera keeps panning over to the disappointed face of J.D., to my
annoyance.
I honestly have no ill feeling toward J.D., but I am tired
of the show focusing on him. I want to see more of the other
contestants and I have become really bored with J.D. now.
Hostess Brooke mentions that voting has doubled over the last 2 weeks.
She then announces the original bottom three. It dawns on me that since
this show airs at different times depending on the country or region,
that the original bottom three only reflects the first few minutes of
those who watch the show first. I am not sure who that includes at this
point. I think it is the eastern and central time zones of United States
and Canada, but maybe some of the other countries air it earlier in the
day. The voting distribution is still very vague. The original bottom
three was Jessica, Deanna, and Ty.
Hostess Brooke asks them how they feel. Jessica feels like she has become
a pro at being in the bottom three. Deanna feels like she deserves to be
there. Ty thought he did great, but will use the opportunity to show how
well he can sing an INXS song. Hostess Brooke tells Ty that he should be
surprised because he did not stay in the bottom three. Someone else
wound up in the bottom three. Well, there are only eight contestants
total. Jordis, Marty, MiG, and Ty have now been told that they are safe.
Jessica and Deanna have been told they are in the bottom three. There
are only two contestants left that can be eligible for the last spot in
the bottom three. They are J.D. and Suzie. I thought Suzie did great and
I am fan of hers, so I hope it is J.D. But, no Suzie is in the bottom
three once again. She did not deserve to be there either.
They comment about the bottom three being all female. Kirk of INXS makes
a strong statement that INXS is completely open to either a male or
female lead singer. I totally believe them and I agree with them, but I
think of a lot of fans prefer a male lead.
I notice that no one leaves to join the house band. INXS asks Suzie to
sing “By My Side”. She sounded really emotional and I loved her
performance once again. Jessica is second with “Mystify” and I think
that is my favorite performance from her. Deanna is last and sings
“Never Tear Us Apart”. I think Deanna is the weakest of the three; this
does not seem like her style. I love what she does well, but this is not
it.
INXS tells them that everyone sang great. Jessica barely missed going
home last week, but the fourth time was enough. Jessica is eliminated
this week.
So how did I do on my predictions.....
