Tonight I am going to begin with a comment to the parents.
Parents of America, if you are going to use bad parenting, inconsistent discipline or no discipline, and allow your children to become wild animals before you decide to call for help, shut up when it gets there. I am absolutely fed up with ignorant parents who come on these reality nanny shows, asking for help to manage your children and maintain an iota of evidence that you actually parent at all then get all defensive and know-it-all when they arrive. Children learn what they are taught and by the standards set forth by parents for them. If you aren’t willing to do the job, then call in for help after several years of ill training and the kids hanging from the curtains, then have the decency to admit you do not know what you are doing and accept the help and guidance they offer without making them feel like you are the enemy.
With that said, let’s jump into tonight’s show.
Let’s Meet the Lorimors, a marine, an ex-nanny and 2 controlling children.
Theron is the father and a marine. His soft touch is lacking and his soldier barking flows into the household with discipline. Ginger, the mother, claims to be an ex-nanny and you don’t want to get my opinion on that. My guess is she was immediately fired. Her lack of common sense and any form of mothering skill seems hidden far beneath her lollipop-pacifier-sippy cup drawer. Next we have Seersha, age 4 and her little brother Theron Jr., age 3.
With the gasp from the nannies at the behavior of the children and lack of parenting skill, Head Nanny makes her choice and Nanny Stella is picked. Oh, guess what? Butler said,” Yes” again tonight. Shocking isn’t it? With her umbrella in hand and catching a strong wind Nanny Stella flies over the rooftops to land in the Lorimor neighborhood.
The Observation:
These children still use sippy cups and pacifiers. Mom is a total pushover with these two children. She says no no no over and over and they don’t listen. The kids defy her right to her face and Theron Jr. helps himself to 4 lollipops after mother has told him no repeatedly. Have you ever heard of moving them out of his reach? Goodness, Ginger get a clue. Dad wrestles with the kids roughly and says things like,” You wanna piece of me” then heads off to work leaving clueless mom Ginger to deal with two very-worked up children who continue the aggressiveness with one another. While mother is busily, yet aimlessly, wandering around doing whatever it is she does, the kids are stuffing a banana in the sink and causing the sink to overflow. The mother not noticing until the sink has overflowed onto the floor. Imagine what serious danger could have happened in that amount of time. If you ponder it for one second it is frightening. No one said parenting is easy, but when you decide to have children you sign on for life 24/7. Dad comes home and we see him take swift action with discipline. So here is what the kids see: Dad-lets wrestle and be rough weee, dad goes to work. Mom- do whatever, it doesn’t matter. Dad-bad child bad. Talk about screwing your head up as a child. Stella tries to assure Ginger that she can be firm with her children without losing their love. When are parents going to understand that being firm is something children require and expect. Instead of listening, Ginger bucks Stella’s authority and guidance and Stella lays it to her flat. Stella tells her, “Twelve years ago if you were a nanny like this I would fire ya.”
