Outback Jack: Episode 2
Wet and Wild
Recap By Marlena Montpetit
June 30, 2004
This episode picks up where the last one left off, Jack and 8 very clumsy and uncoordinated women head downstream to camp. None of the women have ever done this before and Jack thinks its great that they are all scared but having fun with it at the same time. Harmonie gets in a canoe with Adrienne, who tells everyone she knows exactly what she's doing. It's
quite clear when the 2 of them go heading right into a tree that they have no clue how to canoe! Marissa had the best advice for them "try hiking cuz canoeing ain't workin for ya."
Mary & Cortney prove no better as their canoe flips over and they are lying in the swampy water. Mary struggles to get out cuz it's gross!!
Now the fun part! I have to clear the air and say that being the recapper & needing to watch the show, I had a very hard time watching the girls steer, dive, duck and play limbo under the millions of spiders out there!!
I gotta admit that, those spiders probably would've been my ticket home, considering I suffer from arachnophobia! Geez, I see one and feel short of breath. I probably would've taken a heart attack in the canoe! Well now that you know I'm a chicken about spiders, let's get back to recappin!!
All the girls end up topplin over in their canoes, when a particular drop in the river happens. Poor Jack needs four pairs of eyes to keep rescuing these girls as they all go floating downstream in different directions! Next part of their travels will be to walk across an Alligator Alley. With Jack leading the way, its the only way to the next camp! The girls are all scared of the same thing; the crocs coming up to bite their legs off!!
Next morning the girls get ready, Natalie has blood on her from killing all the bugs, Cortney feels she has adjusted well as the bugs barely bother her anymore, and Harmonie's shower is cut short when Maria can't get the hang of the shower pump and ends up breaking it by mistake!!
Jack's outing for the girls that day is to visit his friend Sharon's farm. The Girls have lunch with Sharon, where they are told that outback men aren't the greatest at socializing, so they may have to make their move on him. They are also told that they love food and home cooked meals are important to them, which is pretty funny since some girls admit to not being able to even boil water. Meanwhile, Maria scores Brownie points for fixing Jack a lunch plate when he returns to the table.
The Host JD comes to tell the girls what their first competition will be. They basically have to catch their own dinner. The girl who catches the most will pick three other women to go to dinner with Jack, and she will also get some one on one time with Jack at the end of the night! The four women who lose, will clean, gut and prepare dinner for them! Well it's a close race, but Adrienne wins with three fish. She chooses Cortney, Natalie & Shannon to join her for dinner. Marissa is upset but feels Adrienne didn't pick her because she is threatened by her. The other girls feel Marissa is becoming very aggressive in her attempts to get to Jack!
While the other four women head off in their little boat to their tree house date, the losers clean fish, make their supper and mumble about "hoping they choke on it" after they serve it in the tree house!
Adrienne's one on one time is really good with Jack, she likes him and he tells her that he thinks she is special and they share one small kiss.
JD shows up later that evening to let Jack know that he will need to eliminate two more women the next day. Therefore all the women get alone time again to plead their case on why they want to stay. After all the women talk to Jack, he wishes he had more time, but realizes he must chose two to go.
Later that night, Marissa makes her move and asks Jack to go for a walk once all the other women were asleep. He accepts the Invite and we end up seeing them kiss very passionately!
On Elimination Day, the girls are upset cuz they don't wanna compete with girls they have made friends with and Jack says it's harder because he is closer to them now than before. Host JD meets them again & tells them that 4x4 trucks will be taking them to their next camp, However there is only room for six, so two have to go.
So Jack, which two ladies are gonna hit the highway this week:
Harmonie - He has learnt a lot about her and feels she has qualities that will go a long way but he unfortunately had to send her home.
Shannon - He had feelings for her that he couldn't understand and felt that he was putting a lot more effort into her then she was putting for him. She agreed in saying she cant open up emotionally, she said she can handle the adventure part; however it's just too private for her.
So that leaves, Cortney, Natalie, Maria, Adrienne, Marissa and Mary to entertain us on the next journey to camp. Can't Wait!!!
