This show was strange I have to admit!! This family looks out there!!
They are really normal when they are speaking, just there fashion and home decor that is off the rocker!!
We meet Ashley, who is the only "normal" one in the home - she wants a regular family and a normal home - she isn't an ounce of the Goth gene!!
Her brother Ian says he thinks the skulls, coffins, crosses, pumpkins all have to go, since its Halloween all year long in the house.
Sister Lauren feels like everything is normal in the home to her!
Mom Tina and Step dad Randy are in a Goth band and that's where the style comes from!
Once they are surprised by Host Jay that they will be on the show, they rush back home to use their 2 hours wisely and try to grab everything they can!
When the movers come and the home is practically empty - its time to start destroying the home!! Everyone including the family is having a bit of fun doing it since on a normal basis you would never do that to your home! When the family is moved outside, they are told that the bulldozers will take the rest of the house down! The family is nervous because that house is all they know! When the bulldozers tears the front of the home down, Sis Lauren is visible upset about it, she turns away and she is crying, Mom explains that Lauren really grows an attachment to things and it's hard for her to sometimes let go.
There isn't much to say about the week the family was away from the house - because we honestly didn't see much of it!!! The kids are shown picking out flowers, cake, dresses, tuxes, and a wedding dress for the "normal" wedding that they are responsible for.
Next thing we see is that the family is being split up for the makeovers!! Seriously!! Where did the whole week go!! They are told they won't see each other again till the wedding!
Everyone is made to look gorgeous! Funny part is we learn Lauren shaved her eyebrows "by accident" once and they never grew back so they have to teach her to put her brows on nicely!
The black hair that most of them have is gone due to softening up the colors!
At the wedding, everyone is introduced and they all look awesome!! The kids are happy because the ceremony is very pretty and traditional. Mom and Randy are happy because everything feels complete now!
Once back at the house, their new home is revealed and no one can believe their eyes!! They go inside and everyone can't believe it's their house, its very normal looking!! An everyday gorgeous home!! The living room is amazing and so is the kitchen! They love the Smart panel idea as well!!
The focal point in this area is the sushi bar/aquarium!! Ironic but awesome looking!!
Lauren is shown her bedroom, where she discovers she has her own Japanese style bedroom, very calming and lovely, Jay tells her that they have given her an all paid scholarship to go to nursing school! This time Lauren is crying happy tears!! She can't believe it!!
Next Ian is shown his room, they have designed his room based on anime and video games, they have drawn a mural on the wall, showing "Ian's" character in a fighting scene - which he thinks is really cool!! Very good room for a teenage boy!
Ashley is shown her room, which is an amazing start since she didn't have a room; she was previously sleeping on the couch!! Her room is very normal, pretty, and peaceful. They gave her a girlie semi beach theme room - Very Ashley!!
The family is shown the garage which is now a recording studio!! Their band can record and make videos in there now!
Next Surprise, the garage door opens and both of the family cars have been made over as well!! Their cars look semi brand new again!! They are ecstatic!!
The parents are shown their new on suite honeymoon bedroom!! The theme is gothic elegance!! Very beautiful, something you might see in an old castle! The parents love it!!
Then to top the show off they are told they will be having their wedding reception in their new backyard!! The yard is huge and they discover they have a huge pool which is awesome since they live in hot weather!! The kids love it and the parents have a great time enjoying the rest of their wedding day with their family and friends!! This is an awesome new beginning for the whole family!!
