Step Into The Past And Meet The Future

This week our lovely close-knit group is back. After spending last week watching the girls scrape sweat off the guys, I am hoping for something a little better. This season is about to bore me to death. Where is all the excitement of seasons past? Couldn't we have Jodi steal Angela's shirt? How about Nick just beat the snot out of Derrick? At this point I will take anything.
We start the night with the team getting their clue. Step into the past and meet the future. Could it be time to pull a prank on the road rulers? Maybe they will have a good battle of the seasons? The team is not really sure. If it is a battle you would think they might want to rest, but hey why bother, it's time to get drunk
I am not sure why MTV is choosing not to show us what happens after the missions. Apparently, Derrick drinks a lot and Jodi turns into a super slut. This is the stuff we want to see. Tonight is the first time I remember anything being said about Derricks past drug problem. I know the drinking has been brought up once before but never the drugs. I am surprised that MTV held onto that little tidbit as long as they did.
On this particular night, Derrick is once again drunk. When Derrick drinks he is one of those that yells at everyone and then later tells everyone how sorry he is for everything he has done. Tonight it seems Angela is the brunt of his drunken tirade. He tells her off and then later cries to her. He tells her he is sorry and then talks to her about his life. She wants to help him but she is not sure how.
The next morning the roadies arrive at the mission. Carolina and Delphina welcome them and then begin to tell them about their mission. Today they will compete in three different games against the cast of last season's Road Rules. Joining them from last season are; Dave, Mary Beth, Tina, Cara, Chris, and of course Abram.
As they are introducing the group, Abram runs at the group and tackles Patrick. Ah the same old Abram. Dave and Cara are still together and Mary Beth is still the same. She thinks Patrick is hot. Oooh I can see a cat fight coming. Tina is still Tina, and poor Chris, I don't remember his hair being that gray.
The teams will compete against each other in three games to earn points. They will then all compete in a final challenge. The winning team will win $12,000 from Capri Sun. I think we should all win money from Capri sun for having to put up with that stupid shotgun commercial. Anyway, the first game will be a relay race.
Teams will run one person at a time and will pass off when they are finished to the next in line. Running first are Abram and Derrick. The two take off and Abram whips up on Derrick. He is pretty hung over from the night before. Between the hang over and the smoking, this running is killing him. Abram easily beats him and passes off to Tina who is the next leg. Derrick finally makes it in and passes his baton off to Angela.
I didn't think Angela had it in her but she catches up to Tina and then passes her. Tina comments that she is not in the greatest shape and that's the reason Angela beat her. Angela passes off to Jillian and Tina to Cara. Jillian easily beats Cara. Jillian kicks butt. She passes off to Nick and when Cara finally makes it, she passes off to Chris.
Nick keeps the lead that Jillian created and even improves on it. By the time he passes off to Jodi, you can see there is no chance South Pacific is winning. Jodi in fact laps Chris. She hands off to Patrick, who is almost finished by the time that Chris hands off to Dave. This season's group wins by a huge margin.
While they are waiting on the next game to begin, Angela takes it upon herself to ask Chris if he can talk to Derrick. Chris was in a similar situation to Derrick and got himself out. She feels he can help Derrick do the same. Chris responds that he would love to help out Derrick if he can.
