AP N Tenn was out of town for the weekend so I am covering this week's Surreal Life once again. Before I go into details, I just picked up the latest copy of In Touch Magazine and I must agree with them-Of the three, this (with one episode) has been the best season ever (although I loved Tammy Faye for doing the 2nd season).
Fresh off of their "paranormal" experience at the "Haunted Hospital", the group learns that they will be taking photos at the local mall. As the group gets ready, Dave and Flav are in the kitchen with Flav expressing his continued love for "Gitte". Despite everything, "Gitte" is still his favorite person in the house.
For the group portrait, Flav decides that he wants to take the pictures as his "other half", Walter Drayton, Jr. (yes folks, this is Flav's real name). As the gang heads to the mall, Flav tries to present Walter to his housemates but to no true avail. Ryan still sees Flav as "loud and obnoxious", while Jordan, on the other hand "just doesn't care".
As the gang arrives to the mall, Ryan finds the mall to be "ghetto" (what's with you sweetie?). Prior to the group's arrival, Flav invests in a suit much to Brigitte's delight. After Flav's fitting, the group heads to the studio and after looking at several style and photo options, the group (with "Cuchi/Boogie") takes their portrait circa Adams Family (in a good way, there are different styles between the group).
Upon arriving home, the gang returns to Sally Jessy Raphael, a huge audience, and "Dirty Laundry". Although the consensus is a lack of enthusiasm, the gang sits with Sally to reflect on their time in the house-talk show style. As Ryan goes into how well the gang "gets along", Sally suddenly stops her. Showing "the clip", Ryan is unashamed in expressing her dislike of Flav and by the clip's end, she comes across as a hypocrite and two-faced. In response, Flav tells her that the "luckiest day of her life would be to get in bed" with him (Sorry Flav, that's not going to happen!).
After seeing footage of Flav and Brigitte's "romance", Sally turns to Jordan. Questioned about his private nature (and the fact that his label and management got him to enter the house), Jordan admits that this experience has brought him out of his comfort zone and when it's over, he will be proud. Jordan makes the commitment that for the final two days he will be more open and Dave finds Jordan's "ephinany" to be sincere.
For the final footage, Sally forewarns that "it may be too much to handle". With that said, the clip shows Flav hitting the dog (virtual abuse!). While Ryan wanted to hurt Flav (no surprise there), Flav was embarrassed and "wanted to punch himself in the face". Along with Jordan, Flav also receives his "ephinany" and promises to "love all things"-including dogs (Action speaks louder than words!).
As the show concludes, the tension between Ryan and Flav is clear. While Ryan can no longer stand to be around Flav, Flav, on the other hand, views Ryan as the "bratty little sister" (can we include childish in this statement??. Looks like there is a collision wanting to happen and Ryan and Flav are in the midst.
Next week:
Flav wilds out and the gang leaves the "insane house"
