It is another week with the Swan and we are introduced to Delisa S 32 from Colony TX, an Army Reserve Captain, and Lorraine M 38 from Clinton Township MI. program. These ladies felt so negative physically and mentally and found a chance to change it into something positive. Both of these ladies felt compelled to enter the Swan
For me it would take a lot of low self image and low self worth to put myself through the 3 months changing my body. It took me years to be the way I am and it will take me years to change it again if I so choose. Through many years of anguish and conditioning some people come to believe what they have been told all those years are true and no matter what a loved one may say to the contrary, it will not be believed.
The Swan is a show which can aid a few women to take a chance or a leap and come out a new person that is there, but just needs a little help to blossom.
As little girls we are conditioned to always look good, to be pretty and popular. But that isn't how life is or treats us if we are different.
The only fault I see with the show is the reveal. The women are made up and dressed the same. There isn't too much individuality, their personalities are different and that is evident throughout the show. I know these ladies probably love their new look. I don't blame them, because they are beautiful.
Amanda Byron begins the show by telling us that one of these two ladies will join the 5 women who have already reached the pageant.
Delisa is a Captain in the Army Reserve in TX. She is described as a Military Vet coping with a failing marriage. She feels she is built like a man and can come across as overbearing and confident, but she feels she has no confidence in her looks.
After Desert Storm she came back with a lot of sun damage. She feels she looks more like a man than a woman because of the thickness of her body.
She is trying to come to terms with her on and off again marriage. She says she doesn't mind spending time alone, but just doesn't like feeling alone.
She felt as if her husband was more critical of her appearance.

Now we meet Lorraine M 38 year old court clerk, married and has 4 children.
She says she is going into this program because she doesn't want to be nothing, but wants to come out something. Her mother was abusive both mentally and physically. Growing up she was picked on by other kids in school. By the time she was 25 she had no teeth and now wears dentures. She says she never felt pretty and that she looks like a guy. Any compliments her husband gives her she pushes it aside, not believing what she is hearing.
