Oh What A Race It Was!

You know you are really addicted to reality television when you get so emotional about the finale of a show. I freely admit I am one of those people. I swore I would never watch Survivor after Vecepia won but I am okay now. I think I was so upset over that stupid purple rock I let my emotions get the best of me. Needless to say I got over it and I still watch Survivor, but tonight was one of those nights when my emotions ran wild. I can't t tell you yet which way my emotions ran because that would give away the ending. I guess you will just have to keep reading to find out.
Last week was a non-elimination round so we are left with the same four teams. Let's take a minute and break them down. In first place we have Hayden and Aaron. I like them both but Hayden has been getting on my nerves more and more in the last couple of legs. She is their one weakness.
If she loses it again tonight and Aaron can't keep it together, they don't have a pray. In second place we have Kendra and Freddy. I don't really dislike this team; in fact I really like Freddy. These two remind me of Flo and Zach from season two. I could handle Freddy winning but not her. She is the epitome of why so many foreigners hate Americans.
In third place we have my favorite team, Kris and Jon. There is not much more I can say about these two that I haven't already said. They are nice, sweet, loving and are so respectful of other countries. I am hoping they will win it all. They have run a really good race with the exception of the last leg. As long as they don't run into any more taxi problems, these two could go all the way. In last place we have Adam and Rebecca. I for one am hoping that these two are the first team eliminated tonight. I don't care for them and I feel they are lucky that they got this far.
With that said, let's get on with tonight's race. Since Hayden and Aaron were the first to arrive at 11:20 am, they will be the first to depart at 11:20 pm. Teams must now travel by train 800 miles to Xi'an China. Once there they must take a taxi to the Drum Tower to find their next clue. Hayden and Aaron depart for the train station.
Freddy and Kendra depart the Pit Stop at 11:30 pm followed by Kris and Jon at 11:44 pm. They follow Hayden and Aaron to the train station. Hayden and Aaron arrive to find that the train does not depart until 8:51 am and that this will be a seventeen-hour trip. All three teams buy their tickets.
Since Adam and Rebecca were the last to arrive at the last Pit Stop, they start this leg with no money. They depart at 12:24 pm and Rebecca begins to beg for money. Adam lets her do the begging because she is so cute; people just want to give them money. They end up with $180 US dollars.
All the teams are now waiting at the train station. The teams all board the train and are delighted to find sleeper cars. During the seventeen-hour trip the teams talk and try to catch up on some sleep. Once they arrive the team's race for taxis. Kris and Jon get a taxi whose driver is a little too happy. Kris thinks he might have had too much green tea to drink. They are just happy that he knows where he is going.
The teams arrive at the tower and discover that it does not open until 8 am. The teams sit and wait. At 8 am the teams race in, Kris and Jon get the first clue which is a Detour. A Detour is a choice between two tasks each with its own pros and cons. In this Detour teams must choose between Spray and Scroll.
In Spray, teams must travel 34 miles to a local car factory. Once there they must put on uniforms and spray paint an entire shell of a local car called a flyer. The task is fast once you get to the car factory but finding the factory might take awhile. In Scroll, teams must travel 31 miles to a local textile factory. Once there they must search ten bolts of fabric using a light table and find two Chinese characters stamped in the fabric. They must then cut them out and trade them for the next clue.
Everyone chooses to paint the cars. The teams head to the factory. Adam and Rebecca are the first to arrive. Hayden and Aaron are close behind even though Hayden has begun to freak out. The other two teams arrive and soon everyone is painting. Adam and Rebecca are the first to finish. They get the next clue; teams must now travel 40 miles to the Terra Cotta Warriors Museum. This museum houses an army of 7000 soldiers made of clay. Teams will find their next clue in Pit One.
Adam and Rebecca depart making Hayden nervous. She is getting so worked up. I swear her head might explode before the end of the race. They are the next to finish and race out to find a cab. Kris and Jon beat Freddy and Kendra and head for the museum too. Freddy and Kendra however step it up and soon follow. Adam and Rebecca are excited about their lead until it gets blown when a government motorcade stops them.
Even though the motorcade slowed them down, they still are the first to arrive at the museum. They buy tickets inside and race around and find the clue. Teams must now travel 70 miles to Mount Hua and find the North Peak of the mountain. It is there you will find your next clue. As they are leaving, they see Jon and Kris arrive and they decide to fool them into thinking that the clue box is on the opposite side of the pit. Kris and Jon fall for it letting Adam and Rebecca get an even bigger lead. Meanwhile, Hayden and Aaron have found an incompetent driver and are totally lost.
