Since I really have no idea of what Martha may be looking for in her apprentice - the Stewart empire is so widespread and diverse that it's hard to imagine where she intends to place the ultimate winner - I will make my initial rankings based on media hype, personal prejudice, past experience and numerology (actually the Vegas bookies but "numerology" sounds more mysterious!). That's right, I intend to be as biased and unscientific in my predictions as possible. Until we hear the first pronouncement of "You just don't fit in." - the uninspired catchphrase rumored to replace "You're fired" as the indication of dismissal in Martha's "conference room"- my guess is as good as anyone else's! Most of the candidates have incredible qualifications on paper but the interview questions revealed far more about their characters. At the end of the day, it is becoming easier to tell who is being genuine and who entered the race believing that they are on the fast track (the ones who are sure to be derailed early on!)
