American Idol: Who Survives? Who Goes Home? The Top 11
Predictions by The Reality TV Calendar Staff
March 31, 2010
Each week the staff of Reality TV Calendar watches American Idol and predicts who will survive and who will be going home.

Last week none of us predicted that Casey would be given the boot by the fans. And of course there is no way we could predict the save.

At least that is out of the way for the rest of the season and what the voters say, goes. The way it should be.

We do have a great record of predicting who is going home each week.

Keep in mind that American Idol is not all about talent. It's not all about the best performance.

It is also about the vote and the voting blocks.

Who will be popular?

Who will get votes because they're cute, have a great personality or a compelling story?

Who will the tweens vote for? What about the granny's? The southern block?

We think about all these factors and more when we make our predictions and then we take our best guess. We often disagree. But we almost always nail it.

We'll see how we do this year.

Our predictions are below. We'd like to know what you think. You can post your thoughts at the end.

Here's our predictions and comments for last night's performance show and how America voted.

Matt C. Says:

Though the evening was a bit more snoozy, in terms of song choice, than the Elton week back in season three, I think almost all the contestants delivered through and through.

My top three performances come from three ladies: Haley, Pia, and most prominently Lauren, who stepped out of her comfort zone to deliver an immaculate pop vocal. Though she's fallen to the middle of the pack a bit, I still see Lauren as the most potentially successful American Idol out of this bunch.

Kudos to Casey, Scotty and Jacob for some good showings as well.

As for who was a bit weaker......
