Each week the staff of Reality TV Calendar predicts who will survive and who will be going home.
In past seasons we have successfully spotted the eventual winner early in the show.
We have a great record of predicting who is going home each week.
Keep in mind that American Idol is not all about talent. It's not all about the best performance.
It is also about the vote and the voting blocks.
Who will be popular?
Who will get votes because they're cute, have a great personality or a compelling story?
Who will the tweens vote for? What about the granny's? The southern block?
We think about all these factors and more when we make our predictions and then we take our best guess. We often disagree. But we almost always nail it.
We'll see how we do this year.

Ron Lemon Says:
For our first prediction piece last year I wrote the following...
"Where is the excitement? Where is the energy? Where is the star?
Who is going out on that stage and taking control of the whole show? Who do we wait for with breathless anticipation? Who owns it?
I'm just not seeing it this season."
Can't say that this season.
To be honest the night was not as good as I expected it to be. But it was still, better by far, than last season.
And there were some stars, James, Scotty, Casey, Jacob and Lauren showed they have what it takes once again. Especially James and Scotty. At this point I would not be surprised to see them in the final. And that wouldn't bother me at all. Two completely different styles. Two very talented guys.
If it works out like that I would probably give the nod to Scotty because of the strength of the southern voting block. But my personal preference would be James.
Going home tonight? Ashthon Jones. She should and she will. There are too many people on that stage with much more talent and her diva attitude without the talent to back it up is not going to win her any votes.
