The early leader.
Wow, first off, I have to pat myself on the back.
I accurately predicted all ten finalists going through, and I am thrilled that they all went through because they were my ten favorites.
My only misstep of the evening was predicting Brett Loewenstern as part of the Wild card selection. It shockingly went to Jovany, after a boring performance on Tuesday night.
Brett’s vocals probably did not carry weight under the big stage, so I guess it was right for Brett to not make the top thirteen.
I knew for a fact that Ashton Jones would make it. Her “And I am Telling You” was a far, far cry from Jennifer Hudson’s edition. Hell, it was even a far cry from when Lakisha Jones sung it back in Season Six.
Yet, the girl shrieks marketable artist, and Ashton deserved to go through based on her potential.

I knew neither Jovanny nor Kendra was going through. Jovanny sang a great rendition of “Angel” that he sung in his audition, but it paled in comparison to Robbie and Stefano.
Kendra’s first few notes were a misfire, even if her final notes really showed some strong potential.
It was between Stefano and Robbie, and honestly I was tossing back and forth, but I figured the judges would put through Stefano because his vocal was more nuanced and his performance was a lot more professional than Robbie’s great, yet slightly juvenile, wild card performance of Elton John’s “Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word.”
As for Naima, well she laid it all out there with her emotion. You could feel everything she felt when singing, and she transcended her genuine emotion across the screen. I was very scared for Naima’s future, but I am glad she made the top thirteen.
I cannot stress enough how happy I am with this group. There were no serious upsets or shocking eliminations.
Every single person who left deserved to leave, and I think the judge’s really should be proud of selecting an amazing group of singers for us to choose from.
Thank god America did not botch it up like they did last season with the semifinals.
I am so excited about this top thirteen, and the season is only going to get better as the weeks progress.
Before I get to the rankings I want to get this out of the way.
I am rooting for four people.....
