Commemorating the 10th Season of American Idol, we at RTVC felt as if we had to make a list of the single best performances on Idol of all time.
Because putting ten in a list felt so limited due to the immense talent and amazing performances we have seen across the ten seasons, we expanded it to the best 25 performances on Idol ever.
For the next few weeks, we will be counting down the list, five songs a piece, until the Season 10 finale week when the Top 10 performances will be announced.

This week we will announce best performances, numbers 25 through 21.
25. “A Song for You” – Elliott Yamin, Season 5, Songs of Love Week
Elliott Yamin was stated at that point to be the best male vocalist next to Clay Aiken, according to Simon Cowell.
There was no better song to showcase this assessment than his emotionally stirring rendition of Donnie Hathaway’s “A Song For You.” This is the song that sent Elliott from the middle of the pack to a potential frontrunner.
But what was most powerful about the piece was he had Paula Abdul in tears at the end. It was most certainly a magical moment.

24. “Yesterday” – Syesha Mercado, Season 7, Beatles Music Redux Week
The judges seem to never give credit to females for rearranging a song and stripping it down, but I am here to give that credit to Syesha Mercado, one of the most interesting contestants ever.
