American Idol: Adam Has A Crush On Kris June 10, 2009
American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert comes out as gay in the new issue of Rolling Stone magazine and admits he had a crush on Idol winner Kris Allen.
Lambert reveals he found Allen attractive at the beginning American Idol when they were roomed together at the Idol mansion. “I was like, ‘Oh, sh--, they put me with the cute guy. Distracting! He’s the one I found attractive in the whole group on the show: nice, nonchalant, pretty and totally my type – except that he has a wife. I mean, he’s open-minded and liberal, but he’s definitely 100 percent straight,” Lambert says.
As for questions on his sexuality, the 27-year-old feels no one is surprised he is gay. “I don’t think it should be a surprise for anyone to hear that I’m gay. I started to realize I wasn’t like every other boy. I’m proud of my sexuality. I embrace it. It’s just another part of me,” he says.
The new issue of Rolling Stone hits stands on June 12.
