American Idol Recap: A Good Performance Night And A Shocking Results Show Recap and Commentary by Idolhead Ed

Well I haven’t changed my mind. I think our Bottom 3 will be Skylar, Elise, and Hollie.
I think Elise will oddly enough be the first one back to safety and Hollie goes home and it will be an emotional exit.
My last grade of the night; The show Grade A-
That's what I thought after the performance show. Then it really got weird.
Fast forward to the results show.
Every time they do this you’re on one side and you’re on the other we know what’s coming and how does it always happen top 7. I smell a rat.
The thing is I was never nervous for anyone. I knew that only one person would go home this week. Anyone else would be saved. Let’s just see how it all went down.
Before the unpleasantries get underway we get to hear the top seven sing a group song, “Raise your Glass”.
It was pretty good but the moment of the entire performance came when the line in the song was “Why So Serious...” with Phillip and Colton on a bench with Colton’s head in Phillip’s lap while Phillip was stroking Colton’s hair. It was funny.
Next was the ford commercial. It was better than most as it combined some animation with real life.
Ryan let’s us know before he gets down to business that some of the artists whose songs were used last night tweeted their impressions.
We start off with the first two of the night, Hollie and Jessica.
Instead of the usual you’re in the bottom three and you’re safe it’s you make a line to the right and you to the left.
So Jessica is in the right group and Hollie is on the left. Oh we can see what’s coming.
Next we get to witness James Durbin and his new found hair sing a song from his CD which I didn’t get the title but it sounded better than I thought it would.
Not my kind of music. Yeah, I’m a square and a square for using that term.
Next two up for the right-left assignment detail are Elise and Phillip.
And Elsie joins Jessica and Phillip joins Hollie.
Now I always wondered if while on Idol, the kids got a good sense of who is the frontrunner is because if I was Elise I’d be thanking the Idol Gods about now. Being paired up with Jessica is where you want to be when they decide the singing teams.
