American Idol: Who Survives? Who Goes Home? The Top 4
Predictions by The Reality TV Calendar Staff
May 10, 2012
For last week's American Idol prediction only one of us thought that Skylar would be leaving.
The rest of us were very disappointed.
Last week our readers thought it was time for Phillip to go.
Of those taking part in our Who do you think is going home? poll, 41% said Phillip, next was Jessica with 18%. Skylar and Hollie both had 16% and Joshua had 10%.
Is the "male bias" again in control? Maybe. We haven't had a female winner in five years. Are we headed for a Phillip versus Joshua finale?
We hope not and it would seem our readers do as well.
Got thoughts? Post them at the end.
Who do our readers think should win it all? Here's the breakdown for our Top 4 Who do you want to win American Idol? poll...
Hollie Cavanaugh 45%, up from 25%
Jessica Sanchez 39%, up from 33%
Phillip Phillips 11%, down from 17%
Joshua Ledet 5%, down from 9%
For the first time Hollie leads our poll. Jessica has gone up slightly and both Phillip and Joshua are down.
It looks like Skylar's votes are going to Hollie. But this just represents only our readers.
What will happen this week? Let's see.
Got thoughts? Post them at the end.
Each week the staff of Reality TV Calendar predicts who will survive and who will be going home.
In past seasons we have successfully spotted the eventual winner early in the show.
We have a great record of predicting who is going home each week.
Keep in mind that American Idol is not all about talent. It's not all about the best performance.
It is also about the vote and the voting blocks.
Who will be popular?
Who will get votes because they're cute, have a great personality or a compelling story?
Who will the tweens vote for? What about the granny's? The southern block?
We think about all these factors and more when we make our predictions and then we take our best guess. We often disagree. But we almost always nail it.
We'll see how we do this year.
Got thoughts? Post them at the end.
Here's our predictions and comments for last night's performance show and how America voted.
