That was a another great show!
At least until the end when the judges once again stepped into pimp mode and gave Joshua a standing ovation.
I actually enjoyed the first part of his second performance when he was actually singing. But then he finished it with his signature screechfest and ruined it. I'm just not impressed by that.
But it is obvious they want Joshua to win. I don't think he will, but if he does, he will be another Idol that fades into obscurity.
Standout Performance of the Night goes to Hollie for “Bleeding Love”.
I had never heard of the song and that is usually a bad omen. But she was mesmerizing. She looked fantastic and she sang it beautifully.
She may have put herself in the final with that.
It may just be wishful thinking on my part but I'm going to go out on a limb here and declare that both Hollie and Skylar are safe this week.
I think the momentum and the performances for both of them are peaking and that will translate to votes.
That leaves Joshua, Jessica and Phillip.
I think Joshua is safe again this week although I would be happy to see him go.
Jessica didn't do herself any favors last night but she did a whole lot better than Phillip. And she is still trending as the leader.
Phillip once again showed that he really can not sing a melody.
If he doesn't “Phillipize” a song he is just boring. And hearing the same changed up un-melodic treatment of every performance gets on your nerves.
Can you imagine sitting through an hour and a half concert of Phillip doing the same thing over and over and over again? I can't.
I don't think America can either. I think he's gone this week.

I haven't really been into American Idol like this in a lot of seasons, but these talented contestants really have me hooked.
Jessica is growing on me, and her voice has been coming across strong these last few performances.
I didn't love Phil's rendition of 'Time of the Season'. I thought it was a little higher than his voice goes.
Skylar is still my favorite and I love everything she does. I want to buy her CD right now.
