American Idol Recap: Big Drama, No Singing Recap and Commentary by RTVC Staff Writer Amelia Wasserman

But may kill dad.
The second episode of American Idol Hollywood week was super compelling yet NOTHING actually happened.
Oh except for that 16-year old Symone Black is still alive after her epic fall from the stage.
While Symone regained consciousness and left for the hospital we heard Ryan Seacrest say “the show must go on!” And then muttered “because the network is spending $100,000 a minute on this overproduced empire of garbage.”
Turns out Symone fainted from exhaustion and de-hydration.
Got thoughts? Post them at the end.
I’m sure it had absolutely nothing to do with her stage 9 Stage Dad who kept claiming he “was not a stage dad” as he dragged his daughter by a leash around the hotel lobby in a desperate attempt to find her a group after most of the groups had already been formed.
When he finally did find her one he was the one doing the group hugging and only left when his daughter audibly told him to fuck off.
There was another mom hanging around who also felt obligated to declare herself as “not a stage mom.”
Fine you’re not a stage mom, you’re just an extremely aggressive and loving mother who’s desperately trying to live out your failed dreams of stardom through your questionably talented daughter.
As far as memorable people who didn’t make it through to the group rounds, there was bloody faced Ethan Jones.
The guy with the dad in rehab who was so nervous during his first audition he ripped a small hole in his face and was bleeding during his whole audition.
Lauren Mink, also didn’t make it to the group rounds.
She was the freckled face cutie who works with special needs adults.
But you know what? She should be happy. The world needs a special needs worker a hell of a lot more than it needs another pop star turned failed-pop star/alcoholic.
If the initial auditions to get to Hollywood were the joyful episodes full of butterflies and dreams, the Hollywood auditions are the despairing episodes full of diseased insects and night terrors.
See Hollywood can be a land of dreams but for the majority of people Hollywood is a dream slaughterhouse.
It’s a sharp tooth monster that feeds off of the doh-eyed and delusional youth. You go in 21 and leave 41. That place will age you 20 years in 3 days.
