Wow, I am still pretty shocked while writing this article on American Idol.
As of right now, Colton Dixon is no longer a part of the show, and that’s pretty incredible if you think about it.
The guy had the most Twitter followers of all this season’s contestants, a staggering 200,000+ number of Colton fans.
Unlike last year, where Lauren Alaina’s and Scotty McCreery’s larger number of Twitter followers dictated how the season would pan out, this year it’s apparent that the number of followers on the famous social media website has no effect whatsoever on the votes.
Got thoughts? Post them at the end.
Whether Colton’s fans were complacent, or simply split their votes with Phillip Phillips – AKA the guy who is going to win Season 11 of American Idol – remains uncertain.
What is clear is that this season is so unpredictable, I cannot fathom who could go next.
I’m guessing it could be anyone but P2, but you never know when the tides will change.
I have a feeling Colton’s fans will jump ship to Phillip’s fan base, but we also thought the same would go down for James Durbin’s fans when he was eliminated, where they would jump on the Haley Reinhart bandwagon.
That wasn’t the case, and I’m crossing my fingers Colton’s fans sit the remainder of the season out in terms of voting, or just vote for the next best rocker, Elise Testone.
Speaking of Elise, how’s my “Don’t Release My Elise” campaign going?
Elise has officially tied Syesha Mercado’s and Nikki McKibbin’s Bottom Three record -- that is if we’re guessing Elise won’t win this season.
If Elise does manage to survive next week after another bottom three showing, she will officially be crowned the All-Time Bottom Three Idol champion. Hey, that’s not a bad title to hold at all.
It just means America wants to torture others by keeping you around because you’re so talented, or sometimes not in McKibbin’s case.
But I’m not done with campaigns yet, no siree! For the first time in RTVC history, I am running two official campaigns simultaneously.
The first was launched this season at Top Eleven with the “Don’t Release My Elise” campaign, and we’ve all done pretty well so far. Elise is still here after all!
Now, the second campaign I am fueling is the “Hold on to Hollie” campaign.
