America's Next Top Model: Who Will Win? Here's The Intial Rankings!

Previously on America's Next Top Model, Cycle 11 came and went and 14 new girls vied
for the prize. Here are the 11 girls who were eliminated before the final three and
why:
Sharaun- lacked depth
Nikeysha- didn't seem to learn her lessons
Brittany- didn't connect as a model in her photos
Hannah- eliminated after a runway challenge when she was deemed the worst walker
Isis- her performance throughout the competition wasn't as strong as it could've been
clark- for the inconsistent quality of her body of work
Lauren Brie- for her lack of personality
Joslyn- when the quality of her performance slipped noticeably
Sheena- when she couldn't find a balance between her sexy side and high fashion side
Elina- for being too stiff and controlling
Marjorie- for losing her essence after a season long battle with her nerves
This left a final three of Analeigh, McKey, and Samantha. Analeigh was eliminated in
third place and after a final runway show, Samantha was named the runner-up and
McKey was named the winner of Cycle 11. McKey was the second girl to win the whole
show without ever appearing in the bottom two at judging panel, a feat only
previously accomplished by Cycle 8's Jaslene.
Now we are almost upon the 12th season of The CW's hit dramality show. The cast has
been reduced back to 13 after spending the last two seasons at 14. The CW has posted
pictures and bios of the 13 girls on the website so it's time for a pre-season
scoreboard. However, I can't say I'm terribly excited by the cast just yet. It's not
just the bare bones material that CW provides prior to each season, but I'm just not
getting a very good vibe on many of them. Hopefully, they'll be able to knock my
socks off when the season premieres on March 4, 2009. For now, here's how I've ranked
them.
ANTM Cycle 12 Pre-Season Rankings
Natalie
Current Ranking: 1 Previous Ranking: None
Natalie is a 19 year old student from Palos Verdes, CA.
I've ranked Natalie in first place because she seems the most model-esque to me at
the moment. Her picture has a breezy, natural model tone to it and I could see her
look working in a variety of situations. As for the girl herself, she seems like a
cool, relatable gal who could be commercial and high-fashion.
Sandra
Current Ranking: 2 Previous Ranking: None
Sandra is a 19 year old student from Rockville, MD.
I really like Sandra right now. She has this smooth, sophisticated style in her
pre-season photo and gives me a definite model vibe. I don't know if she's from
Africa originally, but I get this African Queen, "Alek Wek," kind of thing from
Sandra. I'm very interested in seeing what she can do.
Jessica
Current Ranking: 3 Previous Ranking: None
Jessica is an 18 year old student from Puerto Rico.
Jessica is definitely someone I'm interested in right now. She is absolutely
gorgeous with a Salma Hayek look and that latina vibe. I am loving everything about
her at the moment and am hoping she succeeds because aside from Cycle 8's Jaslene,
latinas haven't fared so well on this show. If she can use her stunning looks for
high-fashion power and not too-strong sex appeal plus show a relatable commercial
side, she could be a contender.
Aminat
Current Ranking: 4 Previous Ranking: None
Aminat is a 21 year old student from Union, NJ.
Aminat's photo is one of the few that really grabs me right now. She looks striking
and regal and her style of that black top accentuated by the necklace is lovely.
Something about the facial expression seems a little vacant to me, but I'll give her
a pass for now.
London
Current Ranking: 5 Previous Ranking: None
London is an 18 year old student from Arlington, TX.
Oh dear, I can see London getting on my nerves. Maybe not so much for being a bitch,
but the vibe I get from her at the moment is that she tries too hard and I don't
like it when people try too hard to be this or that. Her expression seems forced and
her style is all over the place. However, I've ranked her where she is because her
look stands out and she could be a unique presence in the competition which would
really work for her.
Teyona
Current Ranking: 6 Previous Ranking: None
Teyona is a 20 year old Loss Prevention Representative from Woodstown, NJ.
Yikes! Are we sure Teyona is a woman? She takes the, "Manly Prize," from Cycle Six's
Jaeda and I wouldn't be surprised one bit if we learned Teyona is secretly a
trans-person like Isis from Cycle 11.
Getting past the cattiness though, Teyona has a very striking, polished look that
will leave a definite impression on people. First impressions count and personal
presence is always a plus and I think Teyona will have both. I highly doubt she'll
be one of the first girls eliminated, but where she goes beyond that depends on if
she can take her harsh look and appear soft, thus showing versatility.
Celia
Current Ranking: 7 Previous Ranking: None
Celia is a 25 year old from Cynthiana, KY who works in Designer Fashion Sales.
Celia is beautiful and has a strong look, but her pose and facial expression in that
pre-season photo are neither here nor there. I also don't know about her outfit.
Still, I've ranked her where she is because I like this mature, well-rounded vibe
I'm getting and because I think she has the potential to be a strong model. That
face could work wonders if used right.
Tahlia
Current Ranking: 8 Previous Ranking: None
Tahlia is an 18 year old student from Phoenix, AZ.
Are you sure Tahlia is only 18? She looks more like someone's mom than an
up-and-coming model. In fact, put her right into TV Land's, "She's Got The Look,"
and I wouldn't bat an eye. She just doesn't seem like a model to me and is a
candidate to be the first one eliminated.
That was my first impression of Tahlia, but as I observe her again, I kind of like
her. She has a nice, charming vibe and seems like CoverGirl material. She could be a
great commercial model, but as we know, the judges on ANTM favor high fashion
contestants for most of the show.
Since my first and second impressions vary, and considering I have a bad track
record in picking the first girl eliminated, I've decided to split the difference
and rank Tahlia somewhere in the middle, though cautiously.
Isabella
Current Ranking: 9 Previous Ranking: None
Isabella is a 19 year old aspiring model from Barboursville, VA.
Uh oh, an aspiring model? Generally, everyone who auditions for this show is an
aspiring model, but some people like Jade from Cycle Six, Sarah from Cycle Eight,
and Allison from Cycle 10 use that as their main calling card. Sarah was ok, but
Jade and Allison were known for their bitchy, bad attitudes with Jade falling into
the bottom two five times before being eliminated in the final three and Allison
being eliminated in week two! Isabella looks lovely and takes a nice picture, but
right now, I am getting that bratty vibe. If she acts humble and uses this as a
learning opportunity, her prior knowledge could work for her and she could score
points with the judges for improvement and growth. However, if she acts like a
bitchy know-it-all as Jade and Allison did, she better hope she turns out some
amazing photos or she could be gone quickly!
Allison
Current Ranking: 10 Previous Ranking: None
Allison is a 20 year old artist from New Orleans, LA.
She's got a young, fresh-faced look that could work well for her. However, I feel
she looks a bit clueless/aloof in her pre-season photo, but for now, I'll rank her
here because I can see her look working in a variety of situations provided she
actually knows what to do with herself.
Nijah
Current Ranking: 11 Previous Ranking: None
Nijah is an 18 year old aspiring model from Rancho Cucamonga, CA.
An aspiring model? Isn't any girl who goes on this show an aspiring model? Anyways,
I'm not terribly impressed by Nijah at the moment. For now, she seems to me like a
mish-mash of a number of girls from past season including Cycle 11's Joslyn, Cycle
Nine's Ebony, Cycle Eight's Dionne, and so on. In other words, run-of-the-mill,
cookie cutter contestants, "Been there seen that." I'll wait to see how she forged
her own identity on the show before moving her around the scoreboard.
Kortnie
Current Ranking: 12 Previous Ranking: None
Kortnie is a 24 year old non-profit organizer from Houston, TX.
Kortnie isn't giving me much of a high-fahion vibe and the judges tend to favor the
high-fashion girls throughout most of the competition. However, her flirty facial
expression and large bust is giving me a pin-up girl vibe and that usually doesn't
work for the judges.She could have a strong, relatable presence, but I don't know
about her high-fashion chances.
Fo
Current Ranking: 13 Previous Ranking: None
Fo is a 19 year old student from Albuquerque, NM.
Fo is one of those girls that I'm just not getting at the moment. Nothing about her
seems special to me. She's pretty, she has good style, and she has potential, but
who doesn't have potential? Nothing about her leaps out at me and it doesn't help
that she reminds me of Cycle Six's Leslie, someone who was eliminated for being
underwhelming.
Jacob D. is a twenty-something native of Austin Tx who spends his time
listening to music, posting on Austin based messageboards, playing
video games, and watching TV. Jacob also enjoys reading Shonen Jump,
Garfield and Calvin & Hobbes strips, playing Texas Hold 'em, drawing
cartoon chickens, and tending to his neopets. Though shy in real
life, he loves to sound off on his favorite shows and enjoys
interacting with other fans.
