Two times the frames &
10 times the excuses.
The five remaining hopefuls, Erin, Jennifer, Laura, Nicole and Sundai, are in Hawaii.
Returning from panel they interview that they cannot believe they have made it this far.
Erin, who has been in the bottom two twice in a row, says she needs to prove herself to the panel. Sundai makes a comment about how Erin shouldn’t be here.
Back at the house the girls are talking. They ask about Sundai’s story. She keeps it private but says if she gets to the top four, she’ll tell everything and to get the tissues ready. The Tyra mail, as usual, causes the girls to guess strange things for the upcoming competition.
The next day, which is Laura’s birthday, finds the girls on the beach. Erin amazingly notes that it smells like fish. Who knew?
While they watch, a Hawaiian canoe comes ashore carrying Marisa Miller. The girls are all literally drop-jawed stunned. Marisa is here to coach the girls on Hot but not Over The Top.
First she sends them into the water with instructions to get completely wet.
Everyone does so except Sundai who says getting her hair wet will be a problem. Marisa instructs her to just splash her face instead.
Then the girls are told to roll in the sand. Now that they are all wet and sandy each is to take a turn under a beach shower which is actually just water pouring out of a bamboo pipe. The instructions are to be beautiful and sexy without being obvious or inappropriate.
Marisa coaches them at every step. She teaches them the “Barbie toe” which is bare feet pretending to be in very high heels. She also points out that different audiences will respond to different poses. Nicole and Laura especially seem to be paying close attention.
Marisa then leads them down the beach to a large rock outcropping, which the girls call a cliff. There is Nigel Barker and out on the water is the photographer in a boat.
The girls get to jump off the cliff into the sea while looking graceful. The challenge? No do overs. One shot per girl. Laura and Jennifer both leap and get pretty good shots.
Nicole tried to do a profile and nearly missed her angle. Erin tried too hard and got a strange shape.
Sundai let her nerves get to her and kept climbing down the cliff to get closer to the water until Nigel finally called that she was supposed to jump in the water, not walk into it. She finally jumped. Because she was being tentative she went in awkwardly and close to the rocks. Even Nigel said “is she all right?” She was, but now has water in her ear to fuss about.
Back on dry land the prize for the best shot is revealed. $5000 jewelry made with chocolate pearls. And, the winner will get extra frames at the next competition. And the winner gets to pick another girl to get extra frames. And that girl gets to pick someone. Oh oh … it’s the schoolyard pick. Yep, the final girl gets no extra frames.
The winner is Nicole.....
