America's Next Top Model 13: Nicole Stood Up And Took Control

This week's episode of America's Next Top Model saw the number 13 becoming lucky for one girl as one was crowned ANTM's 13th winner.
14 girls came into the competition and 12 had to fall before our final two was set. Those girls were, and the reasons they were eliminated are:
Lisa- for making an underwhelming first impression.
Rachel- eliminated after a group go-see at the Wilhelmina Modeling Agency.
Courtney- when she admitted to giving up on herself at that week's photo shoot.
Lulu- for not making a strong enough impact as a model.
Bianca- for being unable to soften up her expressions and persona.
Ashley- when her progress plateaued.
Kara- for not bringing enough inner-fire and passion to the table.
Rae- for being unmemorable.
Brittany- for being technical not quite personable enough.
Sundai- for her lack of versatility.
Erin- for the noticeable slide in the quality of her performance and her weeks of self-sabotage.
Jennifer- for her inconsistency throughout the competition.
This left a final two of sweet country girl Laura and awkward high-fashion Nicole. After shooting for CoverGirl, stomping the runway, and a final deliberation between the judges, Nicole was deemed the winner of Cycle 13 of America's Next Top Model.
With another season down, how was it and how does it stack up against past seasons? On it's own, it was pretty underwhelming. A lot of the photo shoots had great potential, such as the veiled beauty shots, the Cirque du Soleil shoot, the martial arts shoot, and the underwater shoot. A lot of the girls had great potential and the final tasks for the final two brought great results.
However, I felt like the whole season was stuck at, "potential," and never really moved up to, "amazing." Yes, most of the girls had potential, but hardly anyone actually used it. Nicole delivered week after week, and other girls like Laura, Erin, Brittany, and Jennifer delivered some good photos. I also feel Bianca was underrated. Still, no one except Nicole seemed to really stand up and take control of the competition. Yeah, these girls should be given a chance despite their diminuitive statures, but barely anyone was actually above 'good.'
As for the photo shoots and challenges.....
