Age Of Love: Dancing, Dining and Dark Dalliances
Episode 7 Recap by Donna Emery
August 1, 2007

This week on Age of Love, Mark took the final four ladies on three very different dates, and we all found out about something that sweet little Megan just wouldn't do.

The episode began with a very sad Jen, who was more than upset about the departure of her friend Jayanna. She said that Jayanna had made being on the show easier for her and that she'd been her best friend there. She griped that if she didn't know Mark, she'd hate him now for what he did to her friend. She professed to be shocked at Mark's decision to let Jayanna go.

But she got a bit more insight when she and Maria found a video that Jayanna had made. They video was shown in front of all four women. Jayanna said that she'd given Amanda advice on being true to herself, but that Amanda had turned that advice around and misrepresented her words to Mark. She called Amanda "pathetic and super-immature." She also said that a woman who needed to do that to get a man was "down and dirty and desperate." She wished Maria and Jen good luck.

Amanda scoffed at Jayanna's words and did not offer any defense. She smiled a cheesy smile and just told them to get over it. She claimed that she'd never said anything that is untrue. "She's almost 40," she said, about Jayanna. I didn't see the point of that one.

Jen was fuming at the end of the video. "Amanda better watch out," she vowed. "What goes around comes around."

Mark was pacing in his own apartment. He cuddled his dog, as if the dog would give him advice. He said it was hard to pick just one girl. To help him choose, he decided to invite Amanda and Maria to a salsa dancing session. When they arrived, they saw a couple dancing. Amanda wondered if Mark would dance well. Mark took one look at the couple and thought he probably couldn't do it right.

Amanda was sure that her young age would give her an advantage at learning how to do this sort of dancing. She fretted: "when a guy doesn't know how to dance, it is difficult to follow his lead." After a brief lesson, the teachers told the ladies that they were to wear costumes.

Amanda came slinking out in a black silk miniskirt and a black short top with a pink fringe. Maria was wearing a beautiful white lace short outfit which covered every curve as though it were spandex.

Maria danced with Mark first and she was determined to pull out all the stops to impress him. She was "Dirty Dancing" with a vengeance. Amanda said that watching them made her blush. "She is really putting on a show for him!" said Amanda.

When Amanda got up, she was too busy tugging her short skirt down to put on a similar show. She concentrated on the moves and did a fairly good job. Mark said that he felt that the experience was "more sexual" with Amanda. He noted that Maria was sweating and out of breath. Amanda said that she had to give Mark kudos for his dancing, since he'd left his inhibitions behind and given it his best shot. Maria told Mark is was her best date yet.

But then Maria had to be Maria again and asked Mark: "if this were your last date with me and Amanda, what would you say to each of us." Mark called the question "buzzkill." He said he didn't want to think about it or answer it. Maria tried to prod him but he wouldn't budge. She said that Mark and her seem to have "juice on the dance floor but not during conversation." In the car on the way home, Maria took a nap.

When the ladies arrived home, Amanda noted that all four of them want all of Mark's attention. Megan got it next, with an invitation to "high tea." She had no clue what this was, but she was glad to have a one-to-one date with Mark. When she got into the limo and Mark asked the driver to raise the partition, she wondered what a partition is. Mark said that "Megan makes me smile, and I like to hang out with her." They came to a lovely place with a garden and gorgeous stone walls. Forget the tea; I want to live in that building! Megan said that she thought that the high tea date would be more suitable for one of the ladies in their 40s. She thought maybe one of them might have had high tea before.

Megan kept worrying about using the right spoon, and about the breakable china. She asked Mark how he'd come to choose the final four. He told her that she was one of the four because "you're a sweetie and you make me smile." After the tea, Mark and Megan had an impromptu dance outside the building. She said Mark had charmed her and that she is falling for him.

When she arrived back.....
