The Bachelorette: Why HER?

She drives me nuts.
I watched The Bachelorette last night.
Here’s the thing: I’ve been a devoted Bachelor and Bachelorette watcher for more seasons than I should probably admit to at this point, but I swore after last season, that if Ashley H. was chosen, that I would be done.
Over it. Disgusted.
I joined right in the ranks of all the adamant fans protesting the idea that ABC just might dare to pick her and that we – the loyal fans and followers – would all be insanely irate and irritated.

And sure enough, Jimmy Kimmel came ‘round and introduced her as the newest, best, WORST Bachelorette. Fantastic.
I did stay strong. Heck, I didn’t even watch it on opening night.
But yesterday, I caved. What IS it about this show that’s so dang irresistible? After all, when I think about it, it’s a rather repulsive show on so many levels.
Really, you’re dating 25 people?
Really, you take a helicopter to get to your evening date?
Really, you’re going to spend the night with your top “picks”?
And, really, really, you expect us to think you’re classy and sweet and pure and innocent in the midst of all this?
And, oh, I can’t even tell you how mad I get when someone complains that “it’s just so hard to see you dating other people.” Sob.
Dude, if you signed up for this show, you signed up for THAT. Suck it up and deal with it or go home. But spare me your closet synopsis on why your feelings are hurt and why you’re jealous and why you’re just on the verge of your next mental breakdown.
But, who’s bitter? I did, after all, watch the show.
And I wasn’t happy that she looked fitter than fit. But I was, happy that Bentley existed and that he happened to have the guts to say that he’s umm… not attracted to her, but he IS competitive.
Why do I hate her so? I’m not entirely sure.
Maybe it’s that she’s too bubbly. Too optimistic. Too naïve. Too “not-smart”?
Whatever. Anyway, let’s get to the point. So, in my mind, since I’m clearly not the biggest Ashley H. fan out there, here are some of the bigger, better highlights.
