The Bachelorette: Yes, Wes Is A Villian, Yes, Wes Is Still There

Bachelorette Jillian Harris leaves her native Canada this episode to go on hometown dates with the five remaining bachelors. However, Jillian was in for a wild ride and it had nothing to do with traveling cross country.
All of the five remaining bachelors are already back in their hometowns, or at least their parents' homes before Jillian comes to visit them. Jillian expects to learn a lot about the bachelors by meeting their families and seeing them in the context of the home turfs.
Reid is up first for a hometown date in Philadelphia. Reid mentions that he had not been in Philadelphia for a while, but this is where his parents live and where Reid grew up. The show has really made an effort to hide Reid this year, so I am especially looking forward to seeing Reid with some airtime. Even though Reid has been hiding based on the editing, there is evidence that I can tell that time with Reid and Jillian has been cut out, and I have really believed from the beginning of the season, that Reid has been a frontrunner.
We get to meet Reid’s family including his dad, mom, and oldest and middle brothers. Reid’s dad is named Larry, the same name as my dad, and his dad reminds me of my own dad, they kind of have the same vibe. I remember last week when Reid had his individual date that Reid reminded me of myself a little bit. I think that Reid and I are very different people, but maybe we overlap in bits and pieces. Approval by his family is a very big deal for him, and if one if his family members disliked Jillian, then that would likely be the end of his relationship with Jillian.
Even though Reid’s age has been listed as 30 the entire season, we find out that Reid will not turn 30 for a couple of days. Several other family members surprise Reid for his birthday. This means that Reid is really the same age as Jillian since Jillian is 29. They are very close in age and I think that being the same age also really helps out Reid.
Jillian says that Reid has a lot of warmth and agreed with his mom that it was hard for him to open up. His mom says that he was hurt really bad once and therefore Reid was more cautious, pickier, so at least Reid meets Jillian’s broken heart test. In an earlier episode, Jillian made a really big deal that she wanted a mate who has had his heart broken before and at least the editing appeared that was a big factor in Jillian sending Sasha home. Jillian also made a big that she was concerned that Kiptyn had never had his heart broken before. As odd at it may seem, I think this gives Reid a huge advantage over Kiptyn.
Everybody talks things out with each other and Jillian seemed to really fit in well. For the first time it dawned on me that Reid is a realtor by profession when Reid commented that his profession would fit in really nice with Jillian’s career of interior design. I think this is a very important real world compatibility that works very much in favor of them having a chance of making it beyond the show. Reid’s mother says that she wants to see Reid settle down, but doesn’t want for him to be hurt.
Reid’s mother looks nothing.....
