This week on The Bachelorette, Emily and her guys visit Dubrovnik, an old city with lots of history, just like London was.
Now that the show has established what a caring, concerned mother Emily is, little Ricki was sent home with the babysitter that we never see.
Maybe she flunked her spelling test. No Dubrovnik for you, young lady.
Without Ricki, Emily can focus on the bachelors and the connections sheís building with them.
Chris Harrison is MIA, so Emily meets the guys and hands out the first date card herself. Itís for Travis, so she gives the card to Travis. See, Chris, thatís why we need you!
Got thoughts? Post them at the end.
Travis is excited to get the date card. He knows heís behind the other guys and that the date is important.
The card reads, ďLetís find love beyond the walls,Ē so Emily and Travis hit up the old part of the city, where Emily says more than 1000 people live behind the medieval walls.
It really does look like a cool place. Emily and Travis stroll the streets and even hold arms like theyíve been dating for years. Travis doesnít get out much, does he?
Emily buys pistachio ice cream and offers to share. I remember taking an ice cream personality quiz awhile back, so in my quest for deeper understanding of our bachelorette, I searched for it.
Pistachio isnít on it. I did find a chart showing what the flavors mean, and it says pistachio represents the artsy , funky type. Hmmm, that doesnít seem to fit Emily very well.
Neither does Travis. They go to the Balancing Stone, a Dubrovnik landmark, where (according to the cultural experts at The Bachelorette), the goal is to balance and remove a piece of clothing, such as a jacket or shirt.
If you do, youíll be lucky in love. Travis tries and finally succeeds at balancing but misses the chance to remove clothing.
Could it be a foreshadowing of his fate? Emily is disappointed, because she wanted to see what was underneath the picnic tablecloth he was wearing.
They dance in the street, and Travis thinks the date is going so well, itís a 10 on a scale of 8. Must be the metric system. But heís converted his centiromanceters wrong , because Emily isnít feeling it.
