The Bachelorette Recap: Emily Goes All West Virginia Backwoods On Kalon
Recap by Senior RTVC Staff Writer Gayl Killough
June 12, 2012
Crush time.
We traveled to London with lead Bachelorette Emily and ten remaining bachelors last night.
However, with ten remaining bachelors, it seems like only about five are getting any airtime as a potential husband, so it is getting real for Emily.
I wanted to touch up a little more on the drama among the bachelors from last week first.
Please remember that this is a highly edited show, and these conflicts are edited in a way to be the most dramatic possible.
I was in total agreement with Chris last week, but I went back and looked at his footage, and I believe that it was edited more than viewers might think at first.
Got thoughts? Post them at the end.
Chris has been given the storyline by the powers that be behind this show of whether Chris is old enough or mature enough to step into Emily life, so everything involving him is getting tightly squeezed into that storyline.
If one carefully analyzes what Chris is saying, there is something different happening between Chris and Doug other than a put down about age or maturity, something different that has Chris worried about something that happened off camera that if he does not put a stop to it will get him sent home by Emily.
We know that it was over something that Doug has said. I think both Chris and Doug need to given the benefit of the doubt in this case.
One of my biggest pet peeves is to see these contestants have their maturity questioned by viewers or to be called immature.
I am going to call Kalon immature later on in this recap so it can be very appropriate to call a contestant immature, I am just a lot more hesitant to call someone immature the older I get.
Even for Kalon, I don't have any doubt that Kalon has bigger problems than immaturity.
I am learning that some things don't come out in life until later in life, and I am also learning how important it is to stick up for yourself and also for those around you.
If you think you can remain drama free in these situations, just wait, eventually there will be someone that comes along that pushes your buttons that forces you to react, and no longer care if some else perceives something as immature.
