The next Bachelor?
We'll lead the boycott.
This has been a great season of The Bachelorette – no question – but even I can admit that this was the weakest episode thus far.

It seemed too much like every other Bachelor/Bachelorette episode with unnecessary drama, maddening decisions made by our Bachelorette, and a somewhat predictable rose ceremony.

I’m not knocking Emily this week – her candid chat with Chris Harrison just proved how smart and amazing she is – but Bermuda really brought out an unnecessary rain cloud over what has been an incredible season.

Hope the sun comes out in the next couple of episodes!

Emily’s first one-on-one date was with Doug, who was clearly nervous and whose insecurities were exposed by the men right before Emily came to pick him up.

Arie was kind of digging into him, but it seemed more of a playful/big brother type of digging than a competitive, jerk-like method of messing with someone like Ryan would do.

We’ll get to Ryan in a little while, but let’s focus back on Emily’s date with Doug.

Doug looks like he’s about to have a panic attack at all hours of the day, and he needs a huge handkerchief to wipe the constant sweat off of his face.

There are two kinds of nervous feelings, I believe. The first is nervousness because you like someone, and the second set of nerves is when you’re just a nervous wreck in general, and anything that puts you in the limelight makes you instantly break out into a sweaty panic.

Doug, I believe, falls into the latter category.

I personally don’t find fault in that, but when you come on a show as public and scrutinizing as The Bachelorette, you should be able to take the heat and pressure.

Something about Doug strikes me as internally weaker than his exterior all-American façade. His answers to Emily sounded a bit too rehearsed.

Really, the “fault” you come up with for yourself is you spend too much time with your child and you suck at washing cars?
