Emily's heart?
Although this was one of the more predictable hometown episodes of The Bachelorette in awhile, there was quite a lot to enjoy overall.
We had not one – but two – families who were not first generation Americans besides their sons who are vying for Emily’s heart.
Yep, Chris and Arie both had parents who were not even born in this country. Chris’ family is from Poland and Arie’s is from Holland.
All in all, Emily got a few foreign surprises she wasn’t expecting to see on home turf after her international love escapades, but rolled with the punches quite gracefully.
Got thoughts? Post them at the end.
First up was Chris’ hometown date, and you could see in Emily’s face that she was utterly deflated trying to make this sinking relationship somehow stay afloat.
Chris and Emily are the rare relationship this season that shifted from an initial strong romance to an awkward friendship. How did this happen so quickly?
I suppose the more Emily moved along with her other relationships, the more Chris just seemed like a desperate kid with his arm floaties in the pool.
The whole date was rather embarrassing, especially considering Emily has been through with keeping up pretenses in regards to her feelings, and when she was telling Chris’ dad how she felt about his son, one couldn’t help but wish she held back a bit.
I think Emily was grasping at feelings she may have once had, but that had all but disappeared once hometown dates arrived, and as a result Chris’ father relayed to him the supposed good news, leading Chris to believe he was in the best standing possible.
I haven’t been the biggest Chris fan this season, but in this situation how could you not feel bad for the guy knowing full well the axe was surely going to fall by episode’s end?
I hope Chris finds himself the right girl, but first he needs to mature a bit more and not let his emotions show so transparently. On to Bachelor Pad 3, good sir!
Jef’s date…where do I begin? Let’s just say it’s getting increasingly difficult to keep Arie at the top of the rankings when Jef’s been walking on water lately.
That letter he wrote Emily – hmm, how shall I put this – was pretty darn poetic, I must admit.
