She hasn't been told.
This is not some kind of Big Brother end of season joke. Nor is it a lesson in Karma. This is serious and sad.
Early this morning, the house that Britney and her fiancee Nick rent was burned to the ground.
No one was injured.
Britney has not been told.
The fire reportedly started as a result of Nick's grilling in the back yard last night. The grill was not completely put out. Somehow hot coals got on the ground. The grass caught fire, then a trash can and then the house.
Nick awakened to the fire and got out. He is fine.
Nick's mother has said that the fire started despite Nick pouring water on the coals.
She also says that Nick told Big Brother producers not to tell Britney about it until after tonight's live show.
That is probably for the best. There is nothing she could do about it and Nick is fine.
But will they tell her tonight on the live show? For the drama?
I hope not. It is a personal tragedy and has nothing to do with the show or the game.
Rather I hope CBS will do everything possible to expedite her return to Arkansas and help her get on with her life.
Because of her sisterly relation to her "Big Brother" it's really important that Big Sister's identity remain covert - we wouldn't want the parental unit getting wind of her snooping and "ground" her. Fortunately around here they can keep a secret much better than most of the major networks!
