Big Brother: Two Newbies And Two Vets Make The Final Four Yell At Your TV Recap And Commentary by Kathleen September 8, 2011
She started spewing out odd Future Facts about the hamsters, current and evicted. Each Future Fact contains a date and often some odd number.
Our hamsters are really a pretty bright bunch so it took them less than three seconds to realize that they have to start memorizing this.
The side effects are part of Big Brother humor. Gee it would be fun to keep the hamsters up all night. So they did.
The drill is that if the Fortune Teller laughs, all the little rodents have to scurry in and listen.
The timing was just such that no hamster would have time to do more than nod off before another laugh would be heard. It really did go on all night long.
The other part is the paranoia bit. The first thing the Fortune Teller shared was that any hamster who didn’t show up for all her readings would not win the game.
Now kids. Think about it. The game is not rigged. There is a law on the books preventing that. Some of us are old enough to remember the reality TV show that prompted it.
But, these are hamsters. This is enough of a threat to keep them up all night.
But, again, after the first round of Hamster Future Facts when everyone had heard them all, everyone went to bed.
The hamsters who nest downstairs heard the laugh and showed up again, over and over, all night long for the ongoing repeating of already heard Future Facts.
Rachel, the HoH Hamster, nests upstairs. She didn’t hear the laugh. She slept through most of the readings.
Does it matter? If you believe the Fortune Teller, it’s a premonition.
If you believe in paranoia, maybe.
The hamsters who did get up all night started thinking that the Future Facts were not the same with each repetition, that there were significant differences in the wording.
Like I say, paranoia.
Think about it. If the Future Facts are going to show up as questions in a contest, they have to be consistent.
They cannot have four or five versions of the Keith question out there and have any control of the game board. A production nightmare if there ever was one.
Rachel will be in trouble for having slept through the drill only if she thinks she is.
