Big Brother: Rumors, Speculation And More Lies

I saw him talking strategy with Zach once and Zach just wasn't understanding what Dick was saying. I thought Dick was going to go off on him, but instead, he started from the beginning and explained it again - using smaller words - just like a parent to a child. He puts up with Daniele's abuse because he's a parent of a (slightly older than a) teenager. I'm sure he's also fun to be with, and he certainly is intelligent. We all know people who are powder kegs and can go off at any time - we walk on eggshells with our words for fear that we'll flip their switch. But not Dick. He's in control of his rants.
On the flip side, if anyone is capable at anytime in their life of spewing half of the things that he said about almost everyone else in the house, religion, homosexuality, drug addiction, Jen (whatever she represents), strategy or not, he has a gene or two crossed or missing. Some thing shouldn't be thought let alone said. He's like a child who doesn't know any better. A child who in the mall will say, "Mommy, why is that lady fat". He's not aware that people have feelings and that we live in a social society where some things are just NOT said. He was never taught otherwise, or he certainly never learned.
But now we put Dick in a social experiment called Big Brother - where the rules are different - ratings rule - he gets a minor slap for some of his antics, but for the most part he is rewarded. As you've said, the producers want him to stay and it appears are helping him to stay (not necessarily overtly). He suspects that he's either loved or hated by America, and he somehow knows that he's responsible for better than average ratings. So, I like Dick in part and I hate Dick in part, but since I like him, I make excuses for the part of him that I hate. And I suspect that's Dick's life. His crazy friends love him. His normal friends love him too but make excuses, telling themselves and others, "That's Dick".
Okay, fair question. I don't like Evel Dick. I think he is a bully and an abuser. He targets women more often than men and I think that makes him a coward as well. I agree he can control it most of the time and he does intentionally "turn it on" as a tactic when it suits his purposes to do so. I think that is even worse than a bully who has no control. I don't like him. I don't like his tactics. I don't like his attitude or outlook towards anyone who has an opinion or agenda different than his own. I think he is a bigot. I think he is incredibly immature for his age. I think the way he caters to his Daughter's every whim so that he can rebuild his relationship with her is selfish and is the worst kind of parenting.
However, I can not deny that, once his antics are edited to remove most of the more despicable outrages, he makes good TV.
For me, this season of Big Brother marks the first time there has not been anyone in the house who I considered likeable. Not a single person that I would invite over for a pizza. I think that is a major mistake on the part of the producers. I think they thought Eric and perhaps Jessica would fill the role of the "good" vs. Dick's "evil." They blew it.
Honestly the only person in the house who I dislike even more than Dick is his spoiled rotten Daughter. Daniele uses and manipulates her father constantly and then says "I have no control over him". I don't know if she is just lying to the houseguests and us, or to herself as well. But it doesn't matter. That she uses his bullying to gain advantage for herself makes her even lower than her Dad in my book.
But you know what? I wouldn't be surprised if one of them wins.
Okay, let's see what happened in the house last night.
After Daniele's PoV win Amber is talking with Jameka and thinking about making a deal with Daniele. She is thinking that she will tell Daniele that if she removes her from the block she will promise Daniele that if she (Amber) wins next week's HoH she will not nominate Daniele. Of course she is swearing that she will win the next HoH. She has been saying that for weeks now. More of her visions I guess. Jameka's only contribution to this is to suggest Amber lie to Daniele and tell her that "everybody likes her."
Of course Daniele is planning on using the veto so that she can backdoor Jen. Taking Amber off would be an easy choice for her although I don't think she will consider the offer not to nominate her as being of much value. Nobody thinks Amber will win anything except Amber. It might make more sense to take Jameka off since she can't play for HoH next week, but I don't think it really makes much difference.
Later Amber is in the hammock alone and talking to God again.....
Because of her sisterly relation to her "Big Brother" it's really important that Big Sister's identity remain covert - we wouldn't want the parental unit getting wind of her snooping and "ground" her. Fortunately around here they can keep a secret much better than most of the major networks!
