Big Brother: ED's Attacks Are Encouraged By CBS Commentary by Cindy Rutolo Dietrich September 13, 2007
Last night on in the Big Brother house the Donatos played a version of one of their
favorite games.
Father and Daughter were getting along. Daniele especially seemed to be
having so much fun. I've rarely seen her so happy. Why? Because she was
playing "which former houseguest?' Then cutting them down, one by
one.
They don't seem to care who hears them anymore. But I hope that their
tactics won't be forgotten. I hope they're remembered when the jury
makes its final decision. Daniele even included cuts on Zach, even
though he was listening quietly in the very next room.
To quote Daniele, "Who Does That?" The Donatos, That's who.
ED is fueled by his vitriolic ramblings.
The other night though, he out did himself.
He was all ramped up. He was screaming obscenities. He was howling like a
loon.
I knew this might not end well. But I hoped it would end soon.
Thus began an almost eight hour grueling battle of wills. It was the
first part of the last HoH contest. Ultimately Zach won part one.
ED won part two. But the first one is what really got to me. Because
even though ED's tactical use of hate speech failed, it still made me
sick to my stomach.
I've also been upset about the way CBS has slanted their coverage of
events. Even more so by what they cut out. But this is their show. And
ED's their star.
ED was in rare form during the first competition. He was taunting.
Caustic. He was just warming up. He'd saved up for this vicious Zach
attack.
For more than an hour during the HOH
Competition, ED verbally assaulted Zach. He used race baiting,
lies and slander. He taunted Zach, his girlfriend, even his family.
Believe me, ED had saved up for this. He practiced and planned his hate
filled attack.
As for you, CBS, you gave him a platform. You did nothing for Zach. Made
no effort to spare, or save him.
You let ED spew out this hate filled talk. Knowing full well, you let
him stand tall. You let him howl, and call Zach any disgusting thing at
all. You let him threaten till it felt like he was verbally
assaulting us all.
You let him unleash a furious verbal assault, Rife with slander and lies
and sexual taunts. It was vicious, vile, sexually demeaning and searing,
These perverse attacks against Zach, addressed to his girlfriend, were
meant to be beyond demeaning. ED meant to cripple Zach in his life. This
was meant to be more than a verbal attack. These were meant to be verbal
death blows for Zach.
ED seemed to come alive. The longer he talked, the more vicious his
lies.
He seemed to gather his strength.
He feeds off his rage.
He vibrates with an evilness that makes my head shake.
He was swearing. He was conniving. And CBS probably won't air any of it.
This is their star after all.
Foul mouthed and vicious "Panty munching pervert." He spits.
"Racist, slurs." He hurls.
He curls his tongue around his lies lovingly.
It wasn't enough to just attack Zach. When he couldn't' get to him that
way, he went for the heart. He taunted, and talked to Zach's X
Girlfriend, "Sweets"
"I won't stop, Sweets." He spoke continuously, contemptuously. "This
whole fucking night's about Zach. I'm going to talk about Sweets. I'm
going talk shit all fucking night about you."
He also attacks Zach's penis. He attacks his life. He attacks his
faith. He attacks his love. Calls him a pussy. He twists things inside.
He batters. He lies.
He twists the truth with lies.
He lies. And he lies and he lies.
