Big Brother: Making It Up As They Go Along Commentary by Jenny Lane August 22, 2007
In case you missed it, there was big drama in the Big Brother house on Monday night! After Jen got nominated in Amber's place, she told everyone that she wasn't going to go to the sequester house if she got evicted, because it wasn't worth it to her. Daniele and Amber headed out for their mystery trip which they won during the PoV competition, and then all hell broke loose. It started with Jen digging out the official Big Brother rule book.
After some light reading of the Big Brother Bible, Jen broke and bleached Dick's cigarettes. When Dick realized that his cigarettes were missing, he hid everything he could find of Jen's. Jen was yelled at by Big Brother because apparently hiding things belonging to other people is ok, but destroying is not. Big Brother immediately (and strangely quickly) replaced Dick's cigarettes.
Jen threw a crying hissy fit because she claimed that she had specifically asked if it was ok to destroy cigarettes before she came, and claims that she was told yes. Of course Dick and Jen had a big screaming match, filled with lots of name-calling. Then Jen decided that since (in her opinion) Big Brother had lied to her, she deserved to eat. She had given up food during a PoV competition.
Jen got yelled at again by Big Brother, this time for eating.
She was told that next week she'd automatically be put on the block and wouldn't be allowed to compete in the PoV competition.
During one of Jen and Dick's many arguments, she got burned by ashes flying off of Dick's cigarette, but nobody seemed concerned with this because there were bigger issues going on.
Jen seemed proud of the fact that she was the first in Big Brother history to get a penalty nomination. She also decided that since the punishment was decided, she might as well keep eating.
Jameka took the new development the hardest of anyone, because she was worried that people would decide to vote her out since they could get rid of Jen the following week. Dick and Eric actually talked about doing that for a while, but it doesn't seem to be the plan, at least not yet.
Jen didn't just eat a little bit, she ate everything she could find all night long. Of course this made the other houseguests madder by the minute, and they all thought that she should get punished more for eating more. By the end of the night, Jen was told that Big Brother would get back to her regarding her penalty. With that, I reluctantly turned the feeds off and headed off to bed.
This morning, I bounded out of bed, eager to find out the latest developments after all of last night's events. I thought that maybe Daniele and Amber would be back, and maybe I'd find everyone bleary-eyed after talking all night. I was sad to see that at around 11:00am, everyone was still sleeping! Daniele and Amber were still absent, so their field trip must have been a major one.
After everyone got up, it was obvious that they are all still pissed at Jen and giving her the silent treatment. The other thing is that the remaining houseguests are now the best of friends. Dick is being overly nice to everyone, including Jameka. Jameka is being just as nice back to Dick, and for now has forgotten her hatred towards him. Jameka is clearly mad at Jen, I've never heard her talk negatively about someone other than Dick so much. Dick is actually slaphappy, he's so excited about what has happened.
