The Biggest Loser Recap, Commentary and Rankings: What We’re Not Seeing

Queen of the ranch.
This week on the Biggest Loser, each of the trainers went home with one of the contestants – and turned it into a grudge match between two feuding contestants.
We knew, from last week’s preview, that Daphne would be confronting Conda about the Red team’s decision to send Adrian home.
When the Black team was waiting for the Reds to return, Jeremy seemed sure Conda would be returning, because she had immunity.
Or, was that the only reason for his confidence?
The producers have gone out of their way to show us a villainess this season; someone worthy of Vicky’s “crown” as the Queen of Mean on the Ranch.
They’ve shown us Conda’s worst behavior and most insensitive words; they’ve shown her balking her trainer’s instructions and rolling her eyes when he calls her on her nonsense.
But they’ve also shown us a team which is fully behind her.
Almost everyone on the Red team votes in lockstep with Conda, and they don’t seem to find fault in her difficult ways. That leads me to believe there’s a reason the producers have chosen to highlight her high jinx.
Similarly, the producers have shown us the practical, calm mannerisms portrayed by Daphne.
Unlike her brother, she has (seemed to) acquire the acceptance and support of her team, so it was no surprise that when she chose to confront the Reds on their expulsion of her brother, she made her angry accusations in a calm, rational voice that effectively trumped Conda’s vehement rebuttals.
It is significant – at least, to me – that she aimed all of her accusations at Conda.
Could it be that she knew who had originated the decision to oust Adrian; that she knew the others had been following Conda’s lead?
After the confrontation – which seemed civilized, when compared with last week’s episode – the contestants were told by Allison that this week, one person from each team would be going home for the week – and that person would be the only one whose weight would be counted for their team.
Not many wanted the responsibility, but Buddy was up for another peek at his newborn son.
