Lost over 200 pounds!
This week on the Biggest Loser, the person with the highest percentage won the title; while one of the many people he left in the dust took home the at-home prize.
True to the season’s theme, the show brooked no excuses. It also held no frills.
There were few flashbacks, and though each of the contestants only enjoyed a few seconds’ celebration on the scale, it was an improvement over last year, when only a few were weighed in.
The streamlined format was fine, by me.
Got thoughts? Post them at the end.
I went into the finale praying for a Kim win, but her brave words to Jeremy on the scale will have to suffice: “We both won,” she told him.
Not exactly, Kim.
But Kim’s a winner in the eyes of the many fans she gained; as the season dragged on and she gradually distanced herself from the gameplay and the entitlement of her previous alliance.
At the finale of the first season of this show, I was disappointed to see Ryan as the smirking champion; defeating Gary: his easier-to-admire rival.
This season was an even keener disappointment.
Jeremy started off all jokes and harmless bravado; but, toward the end, he began to evince the same contentious attitude of entitlement and animosity his sister had shown us for the entire season.
OK, the producers gave us a villainess, but I think even they realized they went a bit too far in the extent of her portrayal.
During the last few weeks, we’ve seen trainer Bob Harper backpedal on his exasperation with her and go overboard in telling us how much she’s changed.
He even tried to have her re-enact Tara’s car-pull.
Bob, I don’t care how much (diet) Kool Aid you make me with that Brita filter. Conda is not – and will NEVER be fit to tie Tara’s sneakers.
In the latter half of the season, the producers downplayed Conda’s negative comments and went out of their way to show us positive side, but by then we just weren’t buying it.
No one can take away these finalists’ accomplishments.
