Not just a pretty face.
This week on the Biggest Loser, we saw some new faces – but it was just the same six contestants, after their makeovers.
The episode began with the six contestants walking outside to meet hostess Allison Sweeney, who was waiting in front of a limousine. She again congratulated them for their “amazing transformations” and speculated that, because of their appearances on the Biggest Loser, people would be walking up to them. She wanted them to be ready to tell the story of their individual transformations. As a first step, she told them they’d be giving a speech to an audience, and be talking about their personal stories.
Danny felt like he was ready. “I want to do a speech in order to inspire and help others.”
To help prepare them for a public appearance, Allison thrilled them by revealing what they’d suspected: it was makeover week! And, to help in their makeovers, she revealed the passengers of the limo: style maven Tim Gunn and famed salon impresario Tabitha. The contestants squealed their pleasure at the sight of them.
“Hot diggity! I’ve made it to makeover week!” drawled Liz.
Amanda knew she wanted to tell someone about her story. “I’ve been through so much,” she said.
Rudy chuckled and admitted he needed a haircut. “I’m looking burly,” he said.
Rebecca was very excited and laughingly said her look needed help.

She told him she wanted women to realize they must take time for herself. “Time slipped away from me,” Liz explained, “and I didn’t do that. Now, I’m reconnecting with my ‘old self’ – and I want to look fabulous!”
Rudy was next to talk to Tim, and was firm about what he didn’t want: a suit. He told Tim he always wore jeans and a t-shirt. Tim asked him if he could see himself with a blazer on top of those jeans, when he took his wife out to dinner. Rudy didn’t seem sure about that, but was willing to try it.
Rebecca told Tim she hasn’t enjoyed selecting clothes. “I don’t like shopping or trying on clothes. It was hard for me. Now, I know I can shop without settling.” Tim encouraged her not to cover herself up. “Show yourself off!” he urged her.
When Rebecca went to the hair salon, she told Tabitha she was a bit scared to get her hair cut short. She thought it would emphasize her “round face.” Tabitha told her she didn’t need to worry about that, anymore. “Embrace the new person you are. Relax! People need to know how pretty you are.”
