Biggest Loser Couples: Stand Up For Yourself… Then, Duck! - Ranking The Remaining 12

This week on the Biggest Loser, with the Olympics over, the contest for the big prize resumed.
We began where we left off, and it was a tense scene as Darrel and Cheryl (what? they couldn’t dig up a Merril, Carol and Beryl to round out the competition?) battled for the right to stay on the Ranch. It could have gone to either contestant, but the axe fell on Darrel.
Which brought out Andrea’s inner dragon.
Andrea’s been a real mystery. I really like her; she definitely seems to be a nice lady. But, week after week, she loses a relatively low number of pounds. A woman her size, on this show, is usually able to lose more quickly. Andrea hasn’t been able to. A few weeks ago, she cried out in frustration to Bob and Jillian to help her figure out why she wasn’t racking up bigger numbers, but they didn’t pay much attention to her plea – and she continues to pull these 5-pound losses.
This week, spurred on by her father’s departure home, she cranked up her attitude a few notches and decided to take her fate into her own hands. When the temptation challenge gave her the chance to gain a perception of power, she decided to jump in with both feet.
Michael – always ready to be wherever the drama reigned – was playing the game, too. He said he didn’t want his fate to be in anyone else’s hands. Maybe he also didn’t want to consider the possibility no one else might want him on their team.
So… let those cookies fly.
After a few rounds of the temptation game; neither contestant was enjoying their diet detour. Both wanted the game to end. Michael was the “winner”, but it was bad luck on Andrea’s fault rather than skill on Michael’s part.
Like everyone else, in any season of this game, Michael decided he would do his best to configure the teams in a way he thought would best benefit him.
Bob and Jillian acted like he’d taken all the Ziploc bags out of the kitchen, flushed the Extra Sugar Free gum down the toilet, and bombed the local Subway. Both trainers registered shock at the teams’ split – and Jillian claimed no one else had ever done anything as heinous as Michael had done, with his choices.
As much as Michael’s attitude and whining ticked me off this week, his response to Jillian was wonderful. “This is the game, Jillian; don’t make me the bad guy.”
Even Jillian had to agree this is true.
Michael played the game to get control and to help himself feel safe. That’s why the game was available. Was he supposed to scarf down all that junk and then ask politely where everyone wanted to go? Would any other player – no matter WHAT they said, in protest – have come up with a team configuration that didn’t tick SOMEONE else off – and that didn’t benefit the chooser in SOME way?
Michael did what he had to do.....
