Biggest Loser Couples: Not Afraid To Dream Anymore - Ranking The Remaining 11
Rankings and Commentary by RTVC Senior Staff Writer Donna Emery

This week on the Biggest Loser, the Blue team vowed to get even with the Black team for last week’s loss.
And the producers vowed to give us more Subway ads than we’d see at a Subway convention.
Rivalries are understandable, on this show. In order to guarantee you’ll survive, on this show, your team needs to be the one who wins the weigh in. The challenges are good for prizes – and, maybe, immunity – but they can’t predict your survival on the Ranch.
So, blowing off steam and talking trash about your opponents is to be expected. The prize this week was something any red-blooded food lover would be happy to get – but it wasn’t really worthy of the boisterous and mean-spirited reaction that we saw, from the Blue team.
As for Michael, he seemed more bummed than necessary with Miggy’s elimination and the addition of O’Neal. His invitation, to O’Neal; to put the team’s shirt on seemed to be complete with a week long pout. And, as his pout kept its place on his face, his hair kept growing higher. I give him credit for losing 118 pounds, and that’s really admirable. But he’s making it difficult for me to hope he’ll keep on losing more.
Of course, it might be easier if he didn’t look like his hair had been done by Don King’s barber.
As for O’Neal, he gave one positive pep talk after another. O’Neal can’t do the same level of physical tasks as the others; but no one can doubt he’s doing his best. His uneven, irregular strides, during the challenge looked as though they took every last bit of his energy. He’s a great guy – with an obvious love for his beautiful daughter. If he decreases the speeches and keeps up the hard work, I’ll keep on rooting for him. Last season, Mo gave a great example of how to be a coach without overloading your team with saccharine platitudes. I’m hoping O’Neal can take a cue from him.
Sunshine has a beautiful face and a personality to match. Ever since she returned to the Ranch, she’s been catching up to the other Ranchers. I hope she can stay long enough to gain confidence in herself. It’s hard to believe a beautiful woman like Sunshine hasn’t had a boyfriend; but her outer beauty is becoming as undeniable as her inner beauty.
The rest of the Blues can be dubbed, “the Big Guys.” It’s hard not to smile at Lance’s Southern charm paired with to Koli’s mature wisdom. And then, there’s Daris – the unlikely frontrunner. He’s the Stubby Kaye to their Frank Sinatra (Lance) and Marlon Brando (Koli) That’s a Guys ‘N Dolls reference, for anyone who’s scratching their head.
On the Black team, they were busy working to keep their one-week victory intact. As they proved last week, they are up to the Blue team’s challenge. It’s just that weight loss is an unpredictable factor – or there wouldn’t be any suspense on this show. But they are at an undeniable disadvantage; when it comes to challenges.
Four women (two of them in their fifties) plus the younger of the Grey cousins can’t be expected to be stronger than four strong men, one strong woman and O’Neal. If Michael was trying to set his team up to be challenge winners, he succeeded. But, as Sam wisely said, the “real” show is at the weigh in. This week, it was the Blue team’s turn to win.
Does that make them the superior.....
